Hey folks,

I'm planning for an upcoming trip and had a couple of questions. I have reservations at Beaches and Cream for dinner one night of our trips. My plan was to spend some time at Hollywood Studios, take a boat to Beaches and Cream for dinner and then on to Epcot after dinner. So, my questions are:

1. My dinner reservation is at 6:50. What time should I leave Hollywood Studios to get to Beach Club on time? I'm thinking be at the dock about 6:00 but I have no idea what kind of schedule the boats run on or how long the ride is from Hollywood Studios to the Beach Club.
2. My understanding is that you can walk or take a boat from the Beach Club to Epcot. Which would you suggest? I'm not sure how long a walk it is and I'll have twin 5 year olds with me. Also, we'll be stuffed to the gills with ice cream. :)

Thanks for the help

If you get at the dock right when the boat gets there, it shouldn't take more than 15 min. if a boat is just pulling out you have to allow for the 30 minutes for it to go do it's drop offs and pickup. I'd say your 6 is about right, personally I'd just walk it. It's about a 20 minutes walk at a regular pace. Yes, the walk to Epcot is quick and easy, shouldn't take more than 10 minutes even with little ones. I wouldn't take the boat, I always stay at the Epcot resorts and have not once done it.

Being at the dock at 6:00 would be about right. The boats run about every 20 minutes and the trip from the DHS Dock to the Yacht and Beach Club dock is about 15 minutes. It's the second stop after the Swan and Dolphin. So, even if you just miss a boat you should get there by 6:50.

We would probably walk from DHS to the Beach Club unless we see a boat approaching the dock. But, I can see why you wouldn't want to do that with small children on a hot day. If you can't see a boat, it will be at least 10 minutes until the next one arrives, and unloads and loads passengers.

The walk to Epcot from the Beach Club is short; probably no more than 10 minutes at a normal pace. Taking the boat would not save much walking and would almost certainly take longer because you would have to walk to the boat dock and wait for the boat. Plus, the boat goes to the Boardwalk dock before heading to Epcot.

I would walk from Beaches and Cream to Epcot. It's just a few minutes, and not worth the wait for the boat.

If you take the boat to Epcot, you will have to walk almost as far (in the opposite direction) to get the boat dock. Walking is much faster and easier.

I would boat from DHS to Beaches & Cream, and then walk from there to Epcot. Hungry tummies won't want to make the walk, but full tummies will feel better walking rather than boosting.

This.

Depending on the crowds (and especially if you've never been to Beaches and Cream) I'd give yourself about an hour. If you just miss the boat you're looking at about a 30 minute trip time just to get to the Beach Club resort.

And walk to Epcot afterwards - It's a nice walk, only about 10 minutes, and the boat really will take longer.

Thanks everyone. We'll take the boat to Beach Club (the boys will enjoy the boat ride) and walk to Epcot.

Also keep in mind that if there is lightning in the area they will suspend boat transportation and run buses between the parks and Epcot resorts. If you run into this situation you'll need to look for a small foldout sign for the Epcot resorts bus since they don't appear in the large sign with regular bus routes.
