Hollywood Studios Parking Lot

My family will be flying in after 6pm on January 3 . Because HS is going to be open until 11 we are hoping to check in and go the Studios to see the Osborne Lights. We will be there hopefully by 9:30. I know the parking lots have been closing early in the day but does anyone know if they are reopening later in the day or do they just continue to funnel everyone to Epcot for the rest of the day.

I parked tonight no problem at 8 pm. Was able to get FP (day of, at 6:30 pm) for RnR (it had been down considerably and had a 120-minute wait), ToT (that had a bloated 30-minute posted wait but I was literally one of eight people in my elevator) and Star Tours (10-minute wait).

This was with second Fantasmic at 8:30. The Osborne lights crowd was light, and I felt like the park was less crowded than it was back in early November.

If it matters, tonight was an 11 pm park close with fireworks at 11. I got a close spot in row 56 and the section was mostly empty when I pulled in.

last night of the lights will be packed, no doubt. The days that the parking lot closed they reopened it later in the evening, during this first week of heavier crowds the parking lot has not closed at all. So you never know

The Star Tours standby wait time sign was on the fritz (showing nonsense characters) on the 20th for most of the day, wonder when they fixed that

It was still doing that on the 21st.

We got to HS at 2ish on the 21st and the lot was open.

It's crazy now, but, after the 1st of January it should slow up a whole lot. I don't think you would have any problem with getting in the lot, even if it is the last night of the light show. Most will have seen it before the last night.
