Hollywood Studios G+ SDD or TOT

I am not sure if I am posting in the correct place. I have two conflicting priorities for G+: Slinky Dog Dash and Tower of Terror. Given that Tower of Terror is under refurb should I prioritize G+ for Tower of Terror and do Slinky Dog on Early Theme Park Entry or vice versa? (Note I will buy $ILL for RoR). We will be going on a high crowd day.

ToT doesn’t have issues, it’s just only running one side while they refurb the other. G+ runs out faster for Slinky than it does for ToT. See Thrill Data: https://www.thrill-data.com/waits/park/wdw/hollywood-studios/ At rope drop people rush to Rise, Slinky, and ToT. If you are at the front of the early entry rope drop pack and you make an immediate rush to get in those queues, you will have a short 10-20 minute wait for each. If you are at the back of the early entry rope drop pack, you will have 30-45 minute waits. I’ve done both options many times, and I’ve found it’s just really a matter of preference. I’ve experienced the heartbreak of slinky being down when we got to the queue. I’ve also experienced being at the front of the ToT queue when it’s announced Rise is down and everyone gets in the ToT queue instead and it extends all the way down Sunset Blvd. Hollywood is such a finicky park for rides operating at rope drop that at this point I generally just take what they give me. In your case, either option will be just fine.

I edited my post to say Tot is under refurb. Thanks for your feedback. We go to Disney so infrequently I want to make the most of our trip and give ourselves the best chance to ride everything we want.

I would go with SDD if it were me for my first Genie+. I just seem to see more TOT pop up throughout the day, and the queue isn't like directly in the sun like SDD, so that's what I'd do.

With the ToT refurbishment complete, will I have any problems grabbing a ToT G+ at 10:30am (2 hours after park opens)? My kids priorities are ToT and Smugglers Run. I was planning grabbing SDD @ 7am, ToT @ 10:30am, Smugglers Run @ 12:30. It will be a very high crowd day.

you shouldn't have issues. We were there presidents day weekend (insane crowds) and were able to get them for quite awhile during the days.

Earlier this week I was able to ride Tower many times. Some were at rope drop, I used LL once, some were in the afternoon, and some were just before and during the first showing of Fantasmic. Posted waits of 50-60 minutes were more like 30 minutes actual wait time.

Having both sides running makes all the difference.
