Hollywood Studios dining

I've only eaten at one sit-down restaurant in Hollywood Studios, the Sci-Fi diner. Are there any others there that you'd reccommend?

The Sci-Fi place was very cool, although the food wasn't that great, we had a good time. I don't mind if the restaurants don't have the best food as long as the atmosphere is right.

We ate a 50's Prime Time Cafe last week, and we didn't stop laughing the whole time we were there. It's a blast. They treat you like family...literally, and the food was actually really good. The menu is mostly good old home cooked meals like pot roast and fried chicken. The atmosphere is a lot of fun.

I like Mama Melrose, its a very yummy Italian food place! The bread there is great, and the Chicken Parmesan is really good too!

I second this, DD and I always eat here. The food is great and the atmosphere is awesome. One of my favorite places to eat in HS.

I guess I should have mentioned I have little ones ranging from 2-8. I'd definately like to try the 50's Prime Time and Melrose when they are a bit older. They both sound very tasty. 50's sounds like a blast too.

Is the Sci-Fi best for little ones out of the DHS restaurants? What other restaurants are there at DHS?

For the little ones how about character dining at Hollywood and Vine? Buffet...no different than anywhere else but a lot of fun. Handy Manny, Jo Jo, and the Little Einstiens

I think 50's is perfect for little ones!

I agree 50's would be fine for the kiddo's. The buffet at Hollywood and Vine to and it suits any picky eaters as it is a buffet so everyone can get what they want.

Hollywood Brown Derby...

The food's good, but a bit pricey -- Signature Restaurant, 2 TS credits.

Nice and quiet (usually), cool, and hardly ever crowded.

Thanks for the suggestions all. DHS is the place where I usually don't think about going to restaurants, but remembering the Sci-Fi diner made me think about other places to eat.

So, the next places on my list are:

50's Prime Time
Hollywood and Vine
Mama Melrose
Hollywood Brown Derby

They'll have to wait until our next visit, but I'll look forward to hitting them up. Thanks again.

Got to tell you - we've been to Mama Melrose twice. Wasn't impressed. If you've gone everywhere else, try this place just so you can say you've been. But Sci-Fi is much better. 50s is fun. MM is just regular old Italian food with pictures of TV and Movie stars from the 70s on the wall.

Skip it.

Besides the Sci-Fi diner, 50's PT and Hollywood and Vine sound the most appealing to me. The others might have to wait a few years.

50's Prime Time is great...and perfect for little ones. We had a blast there and the food was great. Loved the atmosphere and the waitress/waiters are hilarious!! I vote for 50's Prime Time. We enjoyed this more than Sci Fi

We ate at 50's Prime Time Sept 6th and 9th. I loved it big servings, good food and funny waitresses. Well our first waitress on the 6th was the funniest Uncle Dale lol. The other one didnt play along but oh well the food was good :)

I love me some Hollywood Brown Derby. Cobb salad and grapefruit cake? Yes, please.

I have been to all of the restaurants in HS, and I have to say I do not like the food at 50's. I do like the ambiance, but not the food.

We decided we want to cancel our ADR's for CRT in MK. We have too much to do there that day and the kids said that it was ok if we canceled. :goodvibes

We will have 2 TS tickets up now, and one we want to use on Biergarten. The other we were thinking of 50's PT. Do you still think we should?

Is H&V a single ticket TS meal? I like the sound of that one.

OR

Should we suck it up and do Cinderella's Royal Table? We have CP later that day for dinner.

my 2 cents

havent had the pleasure of dining at 50's PT, but from what i hear it is FUN! i would think your children would have a good time there

Mama Melrose - the food is really good there! had a great time. not much on atmosphere for kids tho.

Hollywood and Vine - was not impressed at all with this place - very loud and the food was just ok. I suppose a character meal there would be nice for the kids tho.

Brown Derby - i have not had the pleasure of dining here either - although i am not sure i ever will. i hear the food is awesome here - but the atmosphere probably wouldn't be the best for kids. oh, and its very pricey!

one of these days i will make it to Sci Fi :)

We did the Jo Jo circus lunch at Hollywood and Vine twice. It was very good and they actually had some different dishes you don't see anywhere else.
