Hollywood Studios closed BEFORE the start of Fantasmic?

We are scheduled to go to Disney World in November, and I know the times are not set by any means. However, I do see they have listed during our week that Hollywood Studio will close at 8 pm and Fantasmic will start at 8:30 pm.

Is this normal?

Normal.

In fact, most guests wanting to see the 8:30PM Fantasmic! will already be in the theater by 8:00PM, anyway.

Before the operating hours cutbacks, they would often perform Fantasmic twice each evening in the summer. Show times were 9 & 10:30 with park closing time at 10. This schedule was in place for several years.

The late performance was one of the best shows in the park as crowds were often sparse with little to no advanced waiting time required.

I agree, it's weird to see it that way on a schedule. They don't kick guests out at 8pm, but the attractions are shut down. I believe the shops stay open until after fantasmic though
