Hello. Is the Brown Derby too formal for kids? We'll be going with our 4-year old. She's quiet and patient but just wondering if we'd be out of place? NP

Nope, not out of place at all. We went last Thanksgiving with a 4, 5, 6, 12 and 14 year old (not all mine). It was great. There were lots of other families there.

When my wife and I went last year there were plenty of families in there, including kids. Since the restaurant is actually inside a park it didnt really seem that "formal" to me other than the prices!
they go out of their way to be kid friendly, actually. but if I were you, I'd hold out for a booth, and even wait for it. the tables are in the middle of the action and rather exposing.
We see kids going in all the time. However, Brown Derby is really much to our taste and I don't think our kids would be able to behave that long. It mostly depends on how your daughter acts in nicer restraunts as to whether you want to bring her.
We've eaten at Brown Derby several times with our children, including when DD was under 2. I find there are always lots of kids in every Disney restaurant!
They have a bsic kids menu, that all my kids have always enjoyed. They have a kids appetizer chicken noodle soup that my DD last time ate 2 cups of-we had to order her another one!
DD6 and I went to Brown Derby in May and we both loved it. The food there is fantastic. I didn't see as many kids as at other restaurants and all the kids I did see there were well behaved
