With the new Fantasmic package, now offering lunch at Mama Melrose & Hollywood Brown Derby - I was wondering about the entree choices.

We would pick Hollywood Brown Derby for the lunch Fantasmic package.
But we have never eaten there.

From the menu's I found the below entress available for lunch at Hollywood Brown Derby.
Do you think they taste good ?
Would you order them ? We are picky eaters, except DH.

BBQ Breast of Chicken - Served with Romaine hearts tossed in Green Goddess dressing and grilled flatbread. - $16.00
:confused3Could we order it witout the Romaine hearts tossed in Green Goddess dressing ?

Famous Brown Derby Cobb Salad - Made with finely chopped greens, turkey breast, egg, bacon, tomatoes, crumbled bleu cheese, avocado, chives, and Cobb dressing. With chicken add $2.00 - $15.00
DH would love the Cobb Salad. :goodvibes

Grilled Rib Eye Steak - Served with Arugula, Crispy Sweet Onions, Gorgonazola, Red Bliss Potatoes, and Oven Dried Tomato Vinaigrette - $32.00
Could we order it without the Arugula, Gorgonazola, and Oven Dried Tomato Vinaigrette ?

By omitting the items above, could we replace with some items from the childrens menu such as steamed broccoli & french fries Maybe could we replace the items with the children's appetizer of raw Celery & Carrots with out the dressing ?

Pooh2001,
I am sure most of the dining locations at WDW will make changes to any entree (within reason) that you request. They are there to please and make you happy. Enjoy your vacation.:cool1::banana:

We ate lunch at The Hollywood Brown Derby during our visit last spring and really enjoyed it. My wife and I both had the Cobb Salad as our entree and split the Coconut Shrimp as an appetizer. Both were great, but the real hit was dessert - Grapefruit Cake! Trust me on this, it is incredible.

At our last visit to the Brown Derby, we enjoyed the fillet and salmon for lunch. My sister had her fillet with no sauce and fries instead of the other sides and there was no problem at all. Just ask your server what you can subsitute for any item in the dish you don't care for! We thought the Brown Derby fillet was one of the best we had that week and although I didn't care for the barley crepe, the salmon was also very good and I would recommend it.

We just went and I think they have the same menu for lunch & dinner. The food was VERY good. My DH got a steak and it was very good. I don't think you can go wrong with anything you order. Our server was great too.

We tried the Brown Derby for the first time in March, and also ate there for lunch. We loved it! We didn't even have the lunch menu, we were given the dinner one!

Thank you so much !
:goodvibes My DS and myself, DW, would love to add the steamed broccoli & french fries and our DD would love to add the carrots and celery.:goodvibes

I also read you can get a call from Goofy on a phone at your table.
It will be our DD's 16th birthday while we are at WDW. She would get a kick out of a phone call from Goofy. I hope they still do this in 2011 !

I love the cobb salad there & that's the only place I will order it. They chop it all so fine that you get all the flavors in each bite.

The menu is very good! :thumbsup2 We've dined there for lunch and dinner several times. The only menu item I don't like is the grapefruit cake. Yuck! It was very fresh but I don't like grapefruit taste in my cake.

If I remember correctly the BBQ chicken is actually a salad. So if you order it without the romaine all you will get is chicken.

I used to work at the Brown Derby and they are always more than happy to make substitutions to entrees.

Lintasare - thank youi for the info :goodvibes

Bar-B-Q chciken only - if at least 6 oz. is still great - with some broccoli & fries or carrots & celery added would be great for our DS or DD. ;)

We ate there on our last trip in Dec and loved it!

DH and I tried it many years ago and didn't like it. Finally we gave it another try and I am so glad we did.. we will be going back.

We really enjoy the Brown Derby. One of the best restaurants at Disney. It is now the same menu at lunch and dinner. The filet is absolutely awesome!

We did almost the same! We were at Brown Derby for lunch in March, and ordered the cobb salad and split the tuna appetizer (really great) and the grapefruit cake for dessert. (Our boys found lots of great choices on the kids menu and our oldest ordered an appetizer for his lunch.) All excellent - now one of my favorites!

Not sure if this applies for OP,but just wanted to mention that (at least at lunch time) we thought it was a great place for kids!

We pay out of pocket too.
We then can pick and choose where and what to eat.

If we are on the meal plan - we would have extra snacks and CS credits which would not be used.

We mostly eat breakfast in out roiom. We buy fruit and some junkie snacks
to eat during the day. We have a TS ADR at least once per day.

Thanks for all the reviews and suggestions !

It also isn't available anymore as there is no separate lunch menu, just the dinner menu. I used to order that BBQ chicken salad. We were there 8 days ago and there was only the dinner menu with much more expensive items, no lunch menu. I don't want that much for lunch. We went to Scifi for the first time instead of Brown Derby.

It makes more sense now to me that they no longer have the lunch menu if the lunch has been tied in to the Fantasmic package, too. Higher cost items at dinner are now the lunch norm, too.

Ha ! Another one here who is following the same 'dining method' for lunch!
My DH & I will order Cobb Salad to split, appetizer and GF cake.
Can't wait :yay:

We went back in 2003 for DH's 50th birthday and were not impressed at all. There were five tables occupied in the whole restaurant and service was terrible (it was obvious our server did not want to be there). My DH said it food was just okay, mine I sent back twice. To us it was definitely not worth the price and we've not gone back. Oh, and DH hated the grapefruit cake and he LOVES all desserts.

I thought the Brown Derby was delicious. But I'm not a picky eater and love adventurous and new foods.
I'm sure they could easily accommodate the picky eaters, but why go there if there is not much that appeals to you as it is on the menu?
Maybe Mama Melrose's would be more up your alley.
I know you're looking for the Fantasmic package, but maybe 50's Prime Time Cafe might appeal to your family more? Plus it's a lot cheaper.
