Hollywood Brown Derby for kids?

I want to book the Fantasmic Package for Mama Melrose but have heard that it might be hard to get. So I am looking at other possibilities, what is Brown Derby like especially for a 5yr old boy? TIA

Fantasmic guarantees there will be plenty of kids at the Brown Derby.

We took DS5 and DD3 two years ago, and it was fine. DS ordered the fish 'n chips, and still talks about it. This year we're taking DS7, DD5 and DS1.

I think they could have fun. You could talk to them about all the pictures on the wall.

There were a lot of kids when I went. It was quiter noisy and not overly fancy. The steak was very good.

Twentysix: About those pictures. I'm an "old timer" and should recognize a lot more of those people than I do

We really like eating at BD & on our last trip, our DSs were 4.5 yrs & 1 yr old. WE didn't feel out of place at all. DS (4.5 yrs) got the fish & chips too & a fun dessert.
DH & I love the cobb salad & get it to share b4 our entree.

I totally understand your feelings because I felt that way as well. My DS enjoyed it thoroughly and there were plenty of kids there; not as many as I would have thought though.

I found it to be loud in general in their dining area, so if you're worrying about that then don't worry about it.

As for the meal, my DS enjoyed it. It was a winner for us; this has moved to our first choice for the Fantasmic package.

I agree with previous posters - good for kids. We went for lunch last trip, and our three boys (including our pre-schooler) were welcomed and enjoyed it! Our little one even lasted long enough there for us to order coffee and dessert - that says quite a lot! Great food, but definitely a louder atmosphere than some of the other signature or signature-like restaurants at WDW!
