Hollywood Brown Derby at MGM

I'm going to surprise DH with a quick trip to the Brown Derby in a couple of weeks. We'll be going between meal times, so I thought we could just have an appetizer and dessert. Any recommendations?

Thanks for the pics - I will be on the phone tomorrow AM making reservations.

We've had great meals there. You can book the Fantasmic dinner package with them and we have found it to be really good. I have an ADR there in December and hope to book another for a trip in January.

We had dinner there on Friday and it was great. My filet was perfectly cooked, and the cobb salad my fiance had looked awesome. They dice their lettuce which was different but great. Every restaurant has their off nights, but it sounds like Brown Derby is pretty consistent!

We are planning a dinner in December there. My mother is kind of "basic food" so I hope she won't be intimidated by the menu choices. We are using 2 TS from our DDP.

I am glad to see the good reviews from others..

I will be having lunch there on Oct 4th and I have already planned what I'm going to order. Tell me what you think.

app: Coconut Shrimp
entree: Barbq Chicken with romaine lettuce & goddess dressing
dessert: Flourless Choc Cake or White Choc Cheesecake

We ate there in January for the first time. Enjoyed the meal, but found the service to be slow. Would definitely eat there again, just not when in a hurry.

We got Brown Derby with the Fantasmic Show for Christmas Day. The reservation is earlier than we normally eat dinner - but should be ok 3:40 PM

Can't speak for anything but the Coconut Shrimp (I always get the Cobb Salad and the Grapefruit Cake, both delicious), but my dad ordered that in 2006 and again this March. He loves seafood and is picky about what's good and what's not good, and he absolutely loved this. Have fun! :wizard:

My 16 year old son is really loves salad (hard to believe for kid his size) - I have heard this is the best cobb salad around - is that true?

We ate at the Brown Derby on June 21st and loved it! :yay: I had the tortelloni, filet, and grapefruit cake, and DH had the crab cakes, pork chop, and cheesecake. Everything was delicious and our service was great. We used 2 credits on the DDP, and tipped our waitress (Janet) extra because she did a great job even though she was BUSY!

We eat here every trip...it's a great escape from the hubbub of the parks. I have had the coconut shrimp AND the barbeque chicken and both were yummy.

Just don't expect a quick dining experience...it's a bit more mellow and formal than other TS's in the park. But that's why we like it....it's a nice, relaxing, refreshing lunch.

We love the tuna cobb and the grouper for lunch along with one of the better beer selections at Disney.

Well, I am a very picky eater, and I absolutely loved it. Best salad I've had at any restaurant, actually. Just my opinion of course, but hopefully he will love it as well. You can add chicken for $2.00, which I did both times (otherwise the only meats are turkey and bacon). The chicken was kind of funny tasting last time, but other than that I would have no qualms ordering it a 3rd time. :wizard:

Another thumbs up for the BD. We've eaten there several times (2x for dinner and 1x for lunch) and we thoroughly enjoyed each meal. In fact, I just made our NYE dinner ressies for the BD today. When I asked my DH "where in WDW do you want to eat NYE dinner?", that was his one and only option.

Enjoy,
Lissa

Sounds pretty good with the meat only - however since it is a fancy place I need to inform him that salad is not finger food.
