What does everyone think of Hollywood and Vine? I've eaten there two times with the fantasmic dining package and really enjoyed the food. Lately I've been reading lots of negative reviews on the place.

I am hoping that it is good. This will be the first time with the Fantasmic show. Since you have done this where do they have you sit at the show... Just wondering since this is our first time.

Never done the Fantasmic Dinner package there. But didn't like breakfast or lunch with Playhouse Disney. We suffered through both meals for the boys who LOVE the Little Einsteins!

Food and service was fair. Not good, not awful, either way we're not returning anytime soon.:sad2:

We might be the minority, but we really enjoyed the character lunch. My family liked that there was more variety than a lot of the other buffets. Not everything was fantastic, but there were some really good things. We did almost all buffets on our last trip so my 2 y.o could eat and get out if he got cranky(he did great though), and this was my favorite buffet meal. I gave it a chance despite the mixed reviews, and I'm glad.

Im glad that there are some good reviews here. I read through all the negative threads on here and still went ahead and made reservations. I mean, come on, it's Jo Jo and the LIttle einsteins. I would feel like a horrible mother if I hadn't.
We aren't picky eaters, ready to try anything once. So I figured we wouldn't run into too too much. I figure that when we go to a buffet here in town there will always be something that dh or I won't like. That doesn't mean that it's a bad buffet. Again, buffets are to get you in and out with variety which means some things must be made quickly or not from scratch. This is a buffet, DW or in home town.
And I can't wait! I bought dd a Little Einsteins Jean skirt to wear and DS a tshirt (they won't get these until the week before we leave). I want to see Goliath ;) He is cute.

I've been here once for sure, and I think I ate here a second time. Both times were a few years ago so I can't remember too many details... but I do remember the first time we were there, I was really surprised at hiow much I liked everything. :)

Have eaten dinner there twice and it is now one of two Disney restaurants that we will never go to again. Both times we have had terrible (if any) service; dirty conditions, mediocre, lukewarm food (when there wasn't a 10 minute wait for food to be replenished).

We love buffets--we do a couple each time at Disney and around our home on occasion. But we have had two bad experiences and choose not to go back.

Now, that being said, a lot of people like this place (you said you've eaten twice and liked it). It is all a matter of personal taste and preference and, if you've enjoyed it before, reviews should not keep you away.

seating is in one section of the fantasmic stadium, general public enters through the other side. i've heard some complain that seating is too far to the side, but i've always liked it. we've used the package a few times, and once we didn't and we waited in a huge crowd for a long time to enter the stadium. we felt like cattle being herded in when they opened the gates. with the fantasmic package you can enter at your own pace and not wait in a huge crowd.

This is one place we will not give a second chance to...terrible food and horrible service

We've eaten here three times; most recently a few weeks ago.. We go for the Playhouse Disney lunch. The restaurant is set up like a cafeteria: crowded and a bit noisy, but we like it. I think the food is fresh and tasty. My favorites are the salads, salmon, mashed potato and spoonbread. Oh, yeah, and the desserts:rolleyes1
I'm glad so many others have said they like it. It's one of my favorites. :) I've read some negative reviews that note that the waitstaff was harried. I guess that could throw off the whole experience but we've had good luck. The staff, when we went, was friendly and helpful.

I don't really like it, but then I don't like Crystal Palace either and lots of people like it. Maybe I am just in the minority. Now Boma buffet I loved, especially the breakfast.

This is one place I would love to try but so afraid cause I never hear good.

I, too, heard the bad/negative reviews before our trip. Made me a little worried that we'd picked the wrong place. We wanted to do the package but Mama Melrose's was booked and we didn't want to use 2 credits for BD. I couldn't complain about the service. It was clean. The food was okay. Nothing I'd write home about though. I don't know that we'd go back (had more to do with the food - better places that I'd like try/eat at).

I say (and was also told) to go ahead and try it and then make our decision for ourselves. Don't base it upon other people....what one person doesn't like someone else does. Just like every other restaurant.

i too took the kids for the fantasmic package and chose H&V because it was the cheapest choice. the food wasn't bad but definitely not impressive. it filled us up and they did have alot of choices.......just basic stuff though. not my cup of tea but the kids were happy. of course they ended up eating chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese but they were happy. they really loved the dessert section though. some of the tarts were good but the soft serve ice cream was weird and was more like frozen milk. i will probably try mama melrose next time.
