Has anyone been to Hollywood and Vine recently? I have it booked for the Fantasmic Dinner Package on Feb 13. I've seen sample menus and the food sounds like it would be good. Is it an all you can eat buffet or do you just get one plate? One issue I have with buffets is cleanliness, are the serving utensils kept relatively clean? Is there a good selection of vegetables and are the desserts good? How about the overall value?
Thanks!

We were H&V on Jan. 15th for the first time in many years. The food was good and very clean. I saw a boy drop a serving utensil and put it back in the food and before I could say anything the CM had taken the whole dis out and went out back to get a new one. I'm not a big fan of buffets but I would go back here in a heart beat. They had a good selection of food and the chicken satay was very good. The dessert bar was very good also, apple cobler, cookies, soft serve ice cream w/toppings bar, just to name a few. The kids liked it a lot so that's saying something. As far value goes I think it's worth it since it's all you can eat, but other people may not.

In our experience H & V was the dirtiest of any of the buffets we tried. Staff was very lethargic about keeping things tidy or wiping up spills. Perhaps it was an off day, but we won't go back.

We were just at the Hollywood & Vine last week, and I can attest to the fact that the buffet is kept very clean! I accidentally put a spoon on the counter instead of the buffet tray/spoon rest and the CM immediately whisked it away and replaced it with another spoon!

And yes, it's all you can eat. So take what you want on your first trip up, then leave your finished plate at your table (cm will whisk it away!) and then get a new plate for anything else you may want to try.

As for the food, it was served fresh and hot. What did we like? well, the turkey pot roast (full of veggies, which i love), salmon, seafood/broccoli/ziti, carving station steak, cucumber salad, all OTHER kinds of salads!, roasted chicken, green bean casserole, etc. etc. etc. The desserts are also very tasty.

DS said that we always need to have dinner at the H&V! There is something for everyone there. This is a great value for your money! We've now been there twice and I can't imagine not going back there on our next trip.

We go to H&V almost every trip with FDP. I must say that on our last visit in October, H & V's buffet was cleaner, with more selection and better servers than at CP! While the character meal at H & V was long ago discontinued, this remains , for us, a favorite!

The various butter spreads I loved, ditto the pasta/****ake/chicken dish. And desserts? When DS got to CP later in the week, he was complaining that there were no chocolate mousse mini-cups on the dessert bar! He discovered these at H & V for the first time and was bringing us all a small plate to share at the table!

We love H & V. Opinions vary...

:rotfl: ..And BTW - I guess we can type out portobello mushrooms, crimini mushrooms, oyster mushrooms - but NOT thise delicious ****ake mushrooms found in the chicken dish at H & V!!!! Last post would NOT take those letters!!!:rotfl2:

We ate here back in November of 04 and we loved the food. The kids liked their little buffet as well. It was a good time.

We did the Fantasmic Dinner Package in Oct 05 and it was great. Plus, it was our second time there (we had gone in a previous trip)- they will have you coming back for more!

We had mixed feeling's about H&V. I HATED it. Food was disgusting...staff was VERY VERY rude! My DH was STARVING at the time and he seemed to enjoy it. I think that was just b/c he was so hungry. I would pick another resturant to enjoy the fantasmic package. The package is wonderful!!!!

We did the H&V FDP in August and didn't care for the food at all. We did the Mama Melrose FDP on 1/16 and really liked it much better.

We ate there last month and did the Fantasmic Package and we all enjoyed it. They have a great variety of everything! :)
