Ok, so managed to get a large number of our adrs we wanted (inc bog and crt) so very pleased.

However when our 180+10 opened up for h&v they weren't showing any times at all, and I was told that they sometimes come on later. So a number of days go by with me checking each day for availability, and low and behold yesterday I went on line and see that it is now possible to book. But wait no tables big enough for our party of 9. I looked at all the different options, and ended up booking a table for 5 at 6.10pm and a table for 4 at 6.15pm. (could get another table for 5 at 6.10pm if the times being the same made any difference)

So, as we've never eaten there before I have no idea about the seating layout in that resturant. If we arrive early, do you think there is any chance we could get a big table together, or even the two tables close to each other? It's our last meal all together and we really wanted to be able to enjoy seeing the kids with the characters.
Thanks and hope someone might be able to advise :thumbsup2

I think it's really going to depend on how busy the restaurant is and how long you are willing to wait. I'm sure the restaurant will do whatever they can to seat you call together, but they have no way of knowing that those 2 ADRs are linked, so they won't be able to do anything about it until you get there and ask. I would be prepared for a bit of a wait or to split your party up.

I don't have any experience with a large party, but I'm wondering if there is any help in calling dining to see if they can help with the ADR or to somehow link the two? Might be worth a shot.

Phoned this morning and no luck. Said our best option was to turn up a bit early and ask, and they will try if they can.
Not sure how many tables they have that could work for a party of 9.

I'm trying to go from memory (which can be a challenge for me at times lol), but I'm pretty sure H&V is mostly 2 and 4 top stand alone tables (i.e. not booths) that can easily be pushed together to accommodate larger groups. There is some bench seating along the walls, but even then I'm pretty sure they are free standing tables that can easily move. So from that perspective, it's very doable, it's really going to come down to having tables next to each other free at the same time. Getting there early is a good suggestion, it will give them more time to work it out for you.

I think they have maybe 1 or 2 tables that can accommodate 8+ together. There's not a lot of rearranging that would work well there, and they're careful about the tables that do move due to character rotations.

We were a party of 11 when there 2 years ago and sat together at H&V- there were a few larger parties next to us... it did look like they pushed 2 or 3 tables together but none of the tables on that side were separated (left side tables between booths)- it was very tight in that restaurant if I remember correctly.

Thanks guys, will just have to keep everything crossed that they can seat us all together or at least fairly close. Just annoying with being able to book the tables at the same time, just not as one big table. Ah well fingers crossed. Thanks everyone for your replies :thumbsup2

We had nine for one reservation there and they just pushed the tables together, booth seating on one side & chairs on the other, IIRC. Hopefully they can make it work for the two reservations you have. Good luck!
