Hi! DD (now 4 but will be 5 at time of trip) and I are going to WDW. :cool1: I am trying to decide which of these two resturants to chose from for the Fantasmic Dinner Package. Which one would be better for a 5 year old? I have never been to either one. DD is a slightly picky eater when we go to restuarants. SHe will eat the "normal" kids things she does not get at home tooo often (hot dogs, pizza, chicken, ect..).

Does anyone know what the menu is for Mama Melrose'd for the dinner package. Everywhere I have looked it has just said a choice of entre. I thought I had read on an earlier post that the choices were limited but not what they were limited to.

Thanks!!! :cheer2:

I have been to both of these for Fantasmic. I would choose Hollywood and vine because it is a buffet and she would have more choices. Plus they have a fantastic desert bar. I loved dinner at both places.

I would pick Hollywood and Vine as well. We ate at Mama Melrose in December with the Fantasmic Dinner Package, and I didn't think our options were very good to pick from. I think the buffet is a better choice because they don't give you a special menu.

Having been last summer with a 5 year old picky eater...we went with Hollywood & Vine...although I didn't care for it myself, my kids loved it!We are planning on heading back to WDW this summer, and my kids have already asked if we can do the "Mickey's fan-thing" again. Of course they want the sportbottle cup with the glow in the dark ice cube with dinner again too!

We just returned on Friday from a 10 day trip to WDW and dined at Mama Melrose with the dining plan. And I have to say, out of the 9 table service meals we had, Mama Melrose was the absolute worst. In fact, it was worse than most of the counter service we had!! I was surprised at this as we had eaten here previously and had delicious food and service. But this time both the food and the service was horrible; just awful! It was the only meal in the 10 days that my family and I didn't enjoy. The kids just hated the meat sauce as it was almost a chili-type sauce. The pizza sauce was so sweet, my 5 year old didn't like it at all. And the desserts were very disappointing. It is a shame it was such a bad experience for us this time, because my DH and i had really enjoyed it when we went in 2004.

We have done Hollywood and Vine in the past and love the choices on the buffet but didn't go there this time.

That is helpful! We were tossing between the Hollywood and Vine or Mama Melrose and I think you just helped me make up my mind! Thanks!

Thanks to all the posters!!! I love the dis! :grouphug:

I will be booking Hollywood and Vine. I would rather DD have more choices at this stage in her life. We can always eat at MRs next trip!
