Which has the best food atmosphere? Debating between these 2 for the Pixar dining package. We have never been to either.

Ages?

Brown Derby is 1000% the better food, but it's also more expensive. Hollywood & Vine is a buffet with mixed reviews, but for young children, probably more fun. A lot of the theming of Brown Derby is going to be lost on children. If you're adults, I'd go Brown Derby.

I completely agree with this!

Youngest is 15. So no little ones.

I've never eaten at HBD but have eaten at H&V. My DH & I felt lousy after H&V and got sick. I don't think it was food poisoning because it subsided quickly.. but after that bout I am just mentally scarred by H&V and won't step foot in there again, lol.. Looking back the buffet didn't have a good turn over so that should have been a red flag for me. This is also based on a 2011 visit opinion.

Your youngest being 15 might, do you think he/she would find H&V to be a bit "kiddyish". Or does he/she like character interaction? I know that age can be a funny age where things are categorized between what is cool and what isn't cool/embarrassing lol.

If paying OOP then ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY HBD.

If on the DDP, then H&V. I don't think HBD is worth 2 TS credits.

I would also try and get the Fantasmic Pixar combo package.

Since you said that the youngest is 15, definitely Hollywood Brown Derby.

Brown Derby. Great food and service, with a nice ambience to go with it.

H&V has been the worst meals I have had on Disney property.
We went a few years back and it was awful but I decided to give it another try when the Star Wars dining special was happening. That ended up being the same awful food for an extra cost bc of Star Wars.
Never again for H&V for this family.
