We have eaten at 50's prime time and LOVED it! We have 3 children that are kinda picky and 50's is always loud and entertaining so we do very well there.

But my aunt said that maybe I should check out what they have to eat at Hollywood and Vine and see if we shouldn't try there....Comments and suggestions and pics are most welcome....

We like both. If you are planning on doing Fantasmic, you could book a Fantasmic dinner pkg at Hollywood & Vine. Then you wouldn't have to wait in the regular line for Fantasmic.

50's Prime Time would be my choice hands down.

Now, if I wanted to do the Fantasmic package then yes, I'd eat at H&V, and I have a few times but I wouldn't eat there otherwise. The food is alright but there's no atmosphere or anything special about it.

50's Prime Time has atmosphere, good food and fun too.

I liked them both. If your kids feel like its too loud then try H&V. Its a charachter themed meal. If you havent eaten at H&V, try it.... I think its worth it! :goodvibes

FYI...H&V is not currently a character meal. It will be a character breakfast and lunch after June 25 I think (Playhouse Disney characters) but dinner is not and will not be a character meal.

Several years ago H&V was a character meal (breakfast & lunch) with Minnie and friends.

Prime Time !!! We are going to eat there twice on our next visit. It's so much fun the kids just love it! We just made an early ADR one night to give us plenty of time to get to fantasmic.
Good Luck!

i shouldnt even post cuz ive never been to either, buttttt, i've read a lot more bad things about H and V then i have 50's (other than dont eat the meatloaf). Both are on fantasmic so i'm going 50's. I hear the fried chicken is to die for.

We've eaten at 50's twice and it is really good and really entertaining for kids and you dont feel like you have to be quiet especially if you have a little one. We're going to try H & V this time.I've heard better things about 50's but I like to try myself. But really there is no restuarant in Disney that is just NO GOOD! I always like to try something new and especially if your on the free DDP if you dont really care for it you havent really lost anything. I like to look at the menus and see what sounds like it has the most stuff we would all like and I choose from there.Hope this helps.

Sorry, not true. 50's is not part of the Fantasmic dining package which is the only negative thing I can say about it. I still eat there and take my chances in line for Fantasmic!

50s PT!! I wasn't overly impressed with the H&V buffet, and I'd much rather have my dinner brought to my table then to stand in line for lukewarm mediocre food. Plus I think the food at Prime time is pretty darn good!

We would take Prime Time hands down. We like both but have a better time there. Glad things were able to be worked out.

My vote would be for 50's Prime Time. I have eaten at both and the last time I was at H&V I found the food to be terrible. It's very loud and the selection wasn't very good. We've had a lot better foods at WDW buffets. Always have enjoyed 50's. Just my 2cents.

I have to be honest and preface this with the fact that I've not eaten at 50s Prime Time Café, but I have some fussy eaters in my party, and we all really liked the buffet at H&V. I think the key to getting a good meal out of H&V, or any buffet on property, is to make certain that you get an ADR within the first 30-45 minutes that they are open. After that some of the food has been sitting out for a while and may not be up to par.

That being said, we've done H&V with the Fantasmic package the last two years and really enjoyed it. So much so that we are doing it again this November. If you like being yelled at go with 50s, otherwise get an early ADR at H&V and enjoy a good selection buffet for both adults and kids.

How silly. You don't get "yelled at". Some of the waitstaff play with you (key word- play), some don't.
