Anyone have an opinion on Hollywood & Vine for dinner? Any pics? What do they have on the buffet????

We always go there for dinner and do the Fantasmic dinner package. It is our kid's do NOT miss meal. It's a really good buffet! You will get many mixed reviews on this place...but I would recommend that you give it a try and form your own opinion. We've never had a bad experience there...

I don't have any pictures, but there is a carving station with flank steak, turkey...a nice variety of vegetables, and pasta dishes. There is a kid's station with standard kid fare...chicken nuggets, fries, mac and cheese, and hot dogs. DH and DS fill up on the peel and eat shrimp. It is regular buffet style food, but it's really good. The dessert table has a great Snickers cheese cake and the kids love the ice cream! :lovestruc

When we went last June they had peel & eat shrimp, mussels, the yummiest cornbread, several pasta dishes, veggies, lots of fresh salads, various chicken entrees, a prime rib carving station and breads. The dessert station had mini key lime tarts, rice krispie treats, little chocolate eclairs and cream puffs, and dispense your own soft serve vanilla, chocolate, and swirl ice creams with toppings. Everything was good and freshly prepared. We plan on returning.

Out of all the dinners we had last September, this was my least favorite. It was our last buffet and to be fair I think all the similar foods started to seem the same. My DD loved the salmon and the dessert bar.

I haven't eaten there, but it sounds a lot like the food on the buffet at Crystal Palace (which is a family fave). Is it similar to that?

Went there once and had the worst food and service ever. We were seated an hour past our ADR time (it was the holidays an no where else to go), the server was non existant and did not bring drink refills (glad I had a bottle of water with me), our table and the empty tables around us were not cleaned off so we piled our dirty dishes on top of the empty tables. The food was terrible.

DH had to go hunt down our server for the check.

We will not go back for dinner. We are taking my nieces back in January so we may go there for breakfast because the little one loves the Einsteins

This is the one place that out family will not go back to. The food was flavorful enough but cold, not just buffet lukewarm, I mean cold. The service was lackluster and we had to run the waitress down for our check. This was the first year we were at Disney and we were on the DDP. Love some other buffets at Disney, just not this one. In fact, DHS is really lacking in food choices IMHO.

One of two Disney table service restaurants we refuse to ever go back to (the other being Boatwright's for dinner). The service was absolutely terrible...and all they do is bring you your drink and bill), food was lukewarm...what there was of it; they were very slow to replenish food when it ran out; the bathrooms were disgustingly filthy both times we went.

We love Hollywood and Vine and it's a must do on our list. The food selection is wonderful and we have honestly never gotten bad service. It's a buffet and if you go in knowing that you won't be unhappy!

We have eaten there twice and have been pleased both times. DD loves the dessert buffet. We have had better servers, but worse also. We are usually seated rather close to our time and the buffet selection is similar to most Disney buffets. It works well for the Fantasmic Package.
:thumbsup2

The selection is a bit more limited than CP, but all of the basics are there, plus a few other items.

We had the similar experience to a previous poster. The food wasn'g held at proper temperatures. It was okay, but I like hot food to be hot, not lukewarm.

Given the option, I would select CP over H&V, but you really should try it for yourself. Many people have had good experiences at H&V.

Yikes! We just made ressies there for the Fantasmic package. I hope that more people post that liked it. Maybe I should change it??

We made the Fantasmic reservations, too. I'm going to keep mine. DH picked the restaurant, and surely it can't be too bad. We're not really picky, so I think we'll be fine.

We thought it was great until last trip:confused3

dirty buffet line/floor, etc.; spills

rootbeer sweet potatoes no longer offered

new/younger waitstaff; not as friendly imo

doubt if we'll be back unless we really want the fantastic pkg

fyi, bathrooms shared with the other restaurant; dingy-needs a rehab

Did both the character breakfast and the fantasmic dinner package in January and was happy with both. Food was good(nothing to write home about) but plenty of options and both times our waitress did an excellent job. We will be going back for dinner in Sept.

It really does work great for the Fantasmic package...
I ask my kids what is the one place that they can NOT miss...and every time they say..."Hollywood and Vine!"
This place gets such mixed reviews...I think that you should give it a try and form your own opinion...:goodvibes

Just keep in mind that it is a buffet and if you are looking for "fine dining" then you will surely be disappointed...But if you're looking for a great place to eat, with a variety to please everyone, for a good (by Disney standards) price, then this is the place for you! :thumbsup2
