Hello all, hopefully you will have some advise for me. My son is at Hollywood Studios with his girlfriend and her family. They had a fast pass for F! but they decided to cancel it to find out if they could get anything earlier in the day. Well now they can't get anything and he says the parents are going to be pissed if they can't see the show tonight.

So my questions, I think they just need to keep refreshing and eventually something will pop up right? Also I told them to switch into 2 groups (party of 5) as to make it a little easier. Any other suggestions? I haven't used this system so I'm having a hard time giving suggestions.

Second question, What is the best strategy for them getting in to see fantasmic tonight?

TIA everybody!

There should be no problem seeing Fantasmic! as a walk-in guest.
Arrive at the F! gates 45-60 min. before show time and enter the theater.

In the interim today, they can keep trying for F! FPs.

What a FP+ for F! offers is more CHOICE in seating.

If you DO get a F! FP+, you can choose to sit in either the FP section (virtually the entire left half of the theater) or the Standby section (virtually the entire right half of the theater.)
So, whatever section has the better seating at the time you arrive, you can go there.
Without a FP, you can only choose a seat in the Standby section.

There is a very good chance that you can get a FP+ for F! as a 4th or 5th FP of the day because they issue SO MANY of them (enough to cover nearly the entire left half of the seating.) On many nights, it is possible that you can gat a FP+ for F! as you are walking to the theater.

As to when to arrive at the theater, I'd get to there 45-60 minutes before the show-time.
Even WITH having a FP or Dining Pkg. reservation, don't wait too late.

On busy nights, the CMs can stop holding the reserved sections within 20-30 minutes before show-time, and turn over any available seats to waiting walk-in guests.

Guests who learn how to take advantage of the various available "tools" and timing strategies will be able to take more control over their WDW experiences.

I'd say keep trying since most people don't want to use their FP+ on the show. Splitting the party up may help and that's an option. If they don't get a FP+ it's not a big deal, just get there about an hour early but really likely not necessary.

Hi there! :) Yes, I would advise them to just keep refreshing. They can certainly try splitting the party into 2 groups, but I've found that with shows like F! and Illuminations at EP, FP+ for these things start to pop up as it gets closer to showtime.

For next time, they needn't have cancelled their FP+ to see if they could get something earlier...they could've hit "modify" instead. That way, they wouldn't have lost what they originally had, only to find out that nothing better was available. Encourage them to keep refreshing though! I saw the F! passes pop up every afternoon on our last trip (2/23-3/2).

Alternatively, they could look on MDE and see if there are any F! dining packages available. It's been a long time since I've seen F!, so I don't know how often dining package availability comes up day-of.

Good luck to them! Fingers crossed. :)

Last time we were there we got some last minute fps for F! but ended up sitting in the standby section because we liked that area better. Part of our party was riding ToT so they joined us with around 15 minutes to spare. All were last minute fps (having gone to AK earlier in the day and arriving at HS around 5 pm). Keep refreshing!. I also got fps for the next day for both 7DMT and PP by refreshing. I did this while waiting for dinner (the HS fps) and while family members rode a ride I couldn't because of motion sickness).
