I worked at Hollister once I was old enough (which I think was 17) until I left for college, often as part of two or three part-time jobs. I'm so shocked when I see these sales because they NEVER used to have sales, even on Black Friday, etc -- the 20% employee discount was considered a big deal!

I put 2 pairs of the jeans in my cart, but the price stayed the same. I know some of Hollister's jeans are upwards of $75, but I am still not going to pay $35 for jeans. He is satisfied with Aeropostale jeans and I can usually find those around $20. I do think the shirts are a pretty good deal. $6.95 for a Hollister t-shirt is a great deal and with the extra 20% it is even better. But I don't want to order anything until I find out more about the jeans.

I don't have time to run to the mall so I did internet shopping. Price wise you'll do better if you can print out the coupon and then run to the mall as the shipping is steep.

Per the e-mail I got and based upon what happened when I purchased my items, the redlines prices have already been reduced to the 50% off the redline price on the internet so the online prices are as marked and then you get an additional 20% off when you enter the coupon code. Most of the guys jeans aren't on sale for the 50% off price but a few are. I didn't save 50% on DS's jeans but I did save almost 50% on them - I paid $23 for $40 jeans which is a great price for Hollister and got 4 shirts each for $5 and change. Plus I paid shipping. If you go to the store you might get better or different deals than are on the internet. HTH

VENT!!!

DD wants a denim jacket. Both Hollister and A&F have really nice ones on clearance for the same price. Hollister is a lighter wash. Plus Hollister has cheaper shirts. I could get 4 Hollister shirts for the price of 3 A&F shirts. But since she has tons of Hollister, this morning I finally decided to go with A&F. So I'm ready to check out and now the website won't let me check out. They are doing maintenance!! It just took me forever to make up my mind and I'm afraid once the site comes back up, the things in my cart won't be available.

Hit the section that's marked clearance on the website then the original price and the sale price will both show. Pretty much anything with a price below $10 or more than 50% off original price is definitely a redline. The price you pay will be as marked on the internet and 50% off the redline price if you go to the store.

I've noticed other retailers who never used to have frequent markdowns have started this year. Back when my daughter was wearing Hanna Andersson, for example, I could never catch a break - they'd have a big sale once a year and that was it. Now, those people are emailing me on a weekly basis with big sales!
