We've never been to WDW for the holidays.....but decided yesterday that this year we would take the kids and celebrate Christmas at Disney.

We've got the CP package, eating at Chef's DeFrance and then the 8:15 CP on Christmas day. We're also looking forward to the Osbourne Lights and all the holiday decorations.

For those of you who have been to the World for Christmas, tell us what not to miss. MVMCP is not going on while we'll be there, so that's out. We know we want to see the BW lobby. We're thinking of visiting other resorts to see the decorations.

We're staying at OKW. Anything special there or at SSR or DTD?

Please share your favorite holiday things to do at WDW. Thanks!

Be sure and vist GF and see the huge Ginger Bread House. Park yourself on the beach for Electric Water Parade. Be sure give yourself some down time to rest. At Epcot see the tree lighting at 6PM. See Fantasmic at MGM. Make all your ADR'S now. As long as you are going to BW be sure and see the Dolfin and Swan hotels.

Also, some of our favorites to visit during Christmastime is WL & BC, in addition to GF. We actually go down several times throughout the season just to 'resort hop' to see all of the beautiful decorations & 'goings on'. Each resort decorates to their own theme.

WDW during the Christmas season is absolutely gorgeous. My favorite time of year there (except for the crowds ;) ). You are going to LOVE it! MK, Main Street specifically, is something not to be missed, especially at night. There is something 'magical' pixiedust: about seeing the decorated Christmas tree with the lighted castle in the background.

The holidays are my favorite time to visit, and I go every year! My must-do's:
Take the monorail tour of GF, Poly and CR. The decorations at GF are fantastic, but I enjoy seeing the different interpretations at Poly and CR, too.

Spend some time in the WL lobby. IMHO, nowhere else at WDW feels quite as festive. Go up to the 4th floor, above the main entrance, and sit by the fireplace overlooking the lobby.

Visit DTD in the evening. Everything is decorated, choir groups are performing, kids are riding the little train. Oh, and SHOPPING!

Catch the tree-lighting ceremony at Epcot. It includes Victorian carolers, holiday greetings from many different countries, a light show overhead, and the lighting of a huge tree.

While in the vicintiy of Epcot, look at the incredible holiday displays in the YV, BC and BWI lobbies.

Grab a hot cocoa and a treat, find a spot in the street scene and enjoy the pre-show leading up to the "flipping of the switch" for the Osborne lights at MGM. (This includes falling "SNOW"!!!)

As everyone else said - RESORT hop to see all the decorations. I lived here through two Christmas seasons, and NEVER thought to do that until I saw a Food Network special with Raven showing the resorts at the holidays.

DD and I spent one day doing the monorail resorts and another after noon doing AKL, and BC & BW (never did get to YC).

When in EPCOT stop, watch and listen "The Lights of Winter Archway" It is beautiful and impressive. Also spend time in all the countries to hear the holiday stories from around the world. They each have a different holiday figure (Pere Noel in France, Canadian Santa, Mr & Mrs Claus in America, Three Kings in Mexico) - We did not get to them all this past year, I hope to with DD this holiday season.

Just take it all in and ENJOY - it is the MOST magical time of the year!!! Starting at Halloween through to New Year, I just love taking trips to the WORLD - we usually are there at least one day each weekend if not more!

Hopefully this will be 8th year in a row for me, early Dec. It is wonderful there, nothing like it at that time of the year.

Here is something that is only available at that time of the year, http://allearsnet.com/btp/tours.htm#yul the Yuletide tour. I did it a few years ago, it was great. If you do it, or any others, make sure to get any applicable discounts (DVC, AP, etc)

Oh, & if you like the 'Country Bears Jamboree' in Frontierland in MK, see it at Christmas, when there are different songs & the bears are all decked out for the holidays. :santa:

The daytime parade at MK is the same one as they show at MVMCP, so you'll be able to see it. I love watching those toy soldiers marching down Main Street.

The most beautiful site to us while we were there in Dec. 2 years ago was the entrance into World Showcase! We stayed at the POP and all I remember was a tree so I don't know if all the resorts are like that or not. Oh, and Main Street, of course, is breathtaking at night!

We would hop on the Monorail after taking the boat from WL to the Contemporary; and see all the Christmas Decorations.

We did this one evening when it rained (poured) and it was nice to be able to stay dry and visit 4 resorts too.

Well we got a little damp getting off the boat at Contemporary as we ran into the hotel.

Grab a hot cocoa and a treat, find a spot in the street scene and enjoy the pre-show leading up to the "flipping of the switch" for the Osborne lights at MGM. (This includes falling "SNOW"!!!)

When does this happen??????????? What time?

Thanks :thumbsup2
