We just booked five nights at the Fort beginning Dec. 16:cool1: but have never been to WDW, much less FW, during the holidays so we have lots of questions.

Do they still do the campfire in December?
Are the pools open?
Are there other special activities at the campground?

Aside from the major events (Mickey's Christmas Party, Osborne Spectacle of Lights, Candlelight processionals, etc.), what else do you veterans consider as must-sees during the holidays.

We'd appreciate any advice you can offer!!

We'll be there at the same time! Look for our blue icicle lights!:goodvibes

Do they still do the campfire in December? Yes!

Are the pools open? Yes!

Are there other special activities at the campground? Yes, but I cant remember them all. Plus lots of people decorate their sites and cabins. That is lots of fun to go around and see all the decorations. There is a contest for this as well.

We always do the Candlelight Processional and see the Osbourne lights and just enjoy the decorations everywhere. We also have a small table top tree in our cabin and put up lights outside.

Ohhhhh, I cant wait!

Im booked for Halloween and New Years Eve!!!! never been on New Years :cool1:

You shouldn't miss going around and looking at all the wonderful decorations people put up at their sites. I couldn't believe it. We had lots of fun riding "our" golf cart around all the loops. Look forward to doing it again this year. :thumbsup2

I agree I like to ride around in my cart and look at other peoples campground set-ups as well as the golf carts.Lots of rain today in south florida thats a good thing:cool2:

Just picked up four 2004 ez-go TXTs they are peppy little buggers!!!

Although we didn't make it around to the other resorts last year, but I enjoy going to the other resorts and checking out thier displays. I like seeing the gingerbread houses!!

The movies at the campfire during December are usually holiday themed, like Mickey's Magical Christmas, The Santa Clause, etc.

The pools are definitely open and they still do special activities, when we there this last December they even had a pool party going on.

I agree with going to the other resorts and seeing the decorations and the gingerbread houses, also Downtown Disney is all decorated for the season too.

We too are going that week First time in the fort as well, First time with the Motor home and Grandpa at all! any way what is the typical weather then?

thanks

The weather can change at any second! I live in Orlando and in December, be prepared for anything! There have been some Christmas days where I was in a tank and shorts but there have been days that I was in sweaters and jeans. I would say it could be anything from 70-80 for highs and 50-60 for lows. It only gets into the 40's in late jan/feb

So I would layer because you never know!

We Went In October And Saw The Halloween Decorations At The Fort And In December To See The Christmas Decorations. December Was Far Better. Some People Go All Out.

Don't miss the fireworks on New Years Eve. They will blow you away (pun intended). The best ones are at Epcot. (Every Person Comes Out Tired).:rotfl2:
