Has anyone ever been? If so, I am wondering the best town to get a hotel? Thanks for any help :wave2:

Yes! Loved it! It is cleaner than WDW and very family friendly, too. We stayed at Santa's Lodge, which was right across the road, but you can also rent lodging at the Lake Rudolph Campground.

If you don't stay there, I would recommend the closest one that you can get in Dale or Ferdinand. The Holiday World website has links.

Thanks a bunch for responding :goodvibes
I just got thru looking at Santa's Lodge. That is a possibilty. What type of town is Dale? I just don't want to end up in a roach motel LOL!

My family and I love Holiday World. You can't beat free parking, free unlimited soft drinks, and free sunscreen. The price of admission and food is also very reasonable. They have an awesome water park, and if you like wooden coasters the new one "The Voyage" is really good.

We have gone the past 2 years and both times camped at the adjacent Lake Rudolph Campground. We rented a king size RV. I couldn't tell you about the hotels, but the Holiday World website does have info on them. I know Jasper isn't that far away and they have your traditional hotels there.

We went to Holiday World in 2003 and LOVED IT!!!!! It's a family-owned park that has a charm and pride about it that no chain park (yes, even Disney) can match. The rides are all run very efficiently by friendly ride operators and the wooden coasters are rated some of the best in the world.

They also have free Pepsi stations scattered about the park where you can literally walk up and help yourself to free soda all day!

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Jasper which was nice but way too far from the park. It didn't look very far on the map but it sure took a while to get there!

Have fun!

We went yesterday and today. Stayed at Santa's Lodge. My 5 year old hated the room at first said it was mysterious but warmed up to it quickly!!
The prices at the park are amazing. We couldn't believe how cheap the food is!

Thanks Steve :) I was thinking of looking into a Hampton Inn. I will have to see if there is one closer. I am excited to go to the park. It sounds very family friendly. Six Flags in St. Louis is sort of dumpy :sad2: Does one price get you the water park and the amusement park?

Yes, one price gets you into the water and amusement parks. The website has the exact price but it something like 30 bucks to get in and 19 bucks to add a second day. Sometimes there are specials. We brought an empty pepsi can and got like 6 bucks off each ticket. Also Lake Rudolph's general store can save you about 5 bucks a ticket if you stay there, so I"d imagine Santa's Lodge has a similiar offer. Their website really does do a good job of explaining things. By the way, on a travel show special, 2 of the top 3 water rides in the country were voted to be at Holiday World, the # 1 water ride was in San Antonio.

We went two years ago and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Tell City, Indiana. It seems like it was a 15-20 minute drive.
