You don't have to see the front of the castle, as there are no important "projections" in this show.
If (IF) you don't care about seeing the show as it was designed... as in, seen from the "front" with both
the foreground fireworks (fired from the Fantasyland and Castle roof-tops) and the rear stage fireworks (fired from behind the rear boundary of MK...) then you can choose to view from anywhere with an unobstructed view of the sky.
Not me, however. I want to see the show as it was designed.
It's the reason I'm at WDW.
These are part of the things that set Disney above the competition.
Better design.
Better shows.
I agree with @Robo, but I’d also point out that Holiday Wishes has certain portions of the show at the beginning and (mainly) the end which have the “180 degree” fireworks that are shot off from several additional launch points surrounding the MK.
IMHO the hub/front of castle area is the best place to experience the ‘full’ show, including the 180 degree part.
Generally speaking, any given MVMCP Holiday Wishes show is not going to be quite as as HEA tends to be (although, YMMV).
The OP posted about the crowd level on another thread, so I believe they're referring to last night's HEA crowd. I was right in the middle of it and it was packed. As you inferred, the MVMCP crowd will be much more manageable.
