Holiday Waitlist ?

Well, real last minute plans developed and major low air fare + low auto rental made me call MS to see if room was avaliable for a 2nd DVC Christmas trip. To my surprise, OKW had 5 nights (2 Bdrm) avaliable, but I wanted the whole 7 nights. So, we are on our first waitlist (fingers crossed) but only believe a miracle would open up the last 2 nights we will be in Fla. As backup, I booked a cash ressie through Disney's inventory and will have both "mated" so as not to have to move. Really hope that the waitlist works and I can cancel my 2 nights that are gonna cost just shy of $1800.00 - guess i wanted to see if any holiday waitlisters have had last minute luck.

What are the dates you are missing? If one of them is 12/31, that will be the toughest to have come through. Good luck!

Pam, Arrive 17th with departure on the 24th. Last year we were to be home for Christmas on the 25th after checking out of VWL, but the snowstorm that hit the Northeast sent our flight back to Orlando. We'll see if we make it home this year going a day early , or if our vacation gets an unexpected extention again!

LOL! Yes, I just hate having to stay longer.

Hope it all comes through for you. I think you've got a real good chance of getting your missing nights.

Last year we added 12/27 about 4 weeks out and the wailist came thru in about a week to 10 days. Good luck

My waitlist for these dates came through last month. Days for a 10 night stay took about 6 weeks to all come together except for New Year's Eve. - we are still homeless!! Anyone want to share a villa that night? I am ready to make a back up reservation off site for that night. Hopefully, with fingers crossed - the wait list fairy comes through!!! Good luck - I do think you might have a good chance.

I am not sure what our discounted rate would be if DVC inventory was avaliable for a cash ressie - The $900 a night is Disney's inventory for OKW.

Thanks all, hopefully we'll get a call before next thursday otherwise we have to keep the cash ressie since there will be no full refund after then.

We did 5 nights last year over New Years as a "last minute" reservation. I called every day, telling them that I would take any resort, etc. 3 days before we left, I got exactly what I wanted. I really don't know if it was due to a cancellation or what happened...I was just happy to have the room!
