Just curious if anyone has recently stayed at the Holiday Villas, we stayed there back in 2000 and loved it. Wondering if they have done any renovations or updates. Any details would be appreciated!

I can't believe I'm the only person on here that has stayed there or so it seems. We loved it! I think I will probably just book it again for our next trip in Jan 2006, rates for a 2 br/2bath villa are $109 a night.

I have stayed there twice before and we loved it the first time. The second time everything was good,it just didnt seem to live up to the first time. But I really think that was just us expecting too much. I think the next time the family goes down we are going to rent a house. The houses on Villadirect and Allstar vacation homes look great for a little more then Holiday villas. I think it would be cool to have my own pool and stuff.

That's funny, because I just discovered villa direct today and was thinking how cool it would be to have a house with a pool. I posted to see if anyone else has ever used them before. Though I did a quote from them and they added in a lot of fees bringing the cost up almost $100 a night more than the ad said.

I never did a quote thing from them. I did figure in the 13% tax,and planned on going when I wouldnt need to pay $35/night for pool heat.I hope there isnt to many other hidden fees

Those are the typical fees for renting a pool home. You may want maid service that is also extra. Can't think off hand of any thing else. Oh if you stay less then a week in most you are also charged a cleaning fee. Good luck

We are considering Holiday Villas for January 2006. Are you still planning to stay there?

Has anyone else stayed there within the past 3 months and is willing to give an update or opinion?

Actually I stayed there again just last month. Our friends and us stayed there for the weekend before our cruise. I once again thought this place is a good deal. It doesnt look like they did anything new to the outside but our villa looked like it was painted recently. When we walked in the first day there was a really strong bleach like smell. They must have just got done cleaning as we did get in the room about noon and the room inspector came in a minute after we got in. The smell was kinda annoying at first but then I just thought I would rather smell cleaning products then smoke or something nasty. I really think its a good deal and I wouldnt hesitate to stay there again. You just cant beat the space for the price, and having a washer dryer for a trip is so nice as you can pack alot less. Plus having a refrigerator for all your beverages is awesome.
If you do stay there the way I would drive to the parks is when you are coming from the Holiday villas at the end of poinciana blvd where you turn onto 192 I say turn right then turn left onto 535. Then turn left at 536 at you are right on property. It just seems faster as there are less lights then if you just took 192 to the parks.

Thanks southtown. We have 3 Villas (family reunion) for the 7th - 11th. Their web site indicates the Publix is the closest grocery store. Is that on 192? Do you have a different grocery store that you prefer?

BTW, where in PA? My family was from Pittsburgh.

The publix they are talking about is on the corner of 192 and 535. Its right across the street from the Holiday Villa check in center and it is the one we use since it is close and with the way we go to Disney (as I mentioned in my last post) it is on the way, also I do like it alot. We go there even when we are staying on Disney property.I am not much of a drinker but there is also I liquor store right next door to it if you wanted to make some stuff for mixed drinks for your reunion. I do hope you like it because what might be good for me,might be bad for another and vice versa. Like some people have no problem getting the cheapest room at the Gator Motel and tell people how great it is,were we wouldnt want to step foot on the parking lot of that place.
We are also DVC members and since we got DVC my wife is starting to get picky when it comes to hotels, and she had no problems with Holiday Villas. Like I said in another post you just cant beat price for the space you get. It would be real hard for us to go on a vacation nowadays and stay multiple days in a regular hotel room, even if it was a deluxe hotel on Disney property after staying in a villa. Its so nice to have some breathing room,so even if you are giving up the Disney "shine" as some people call it,its does the job just fine.
Hope you have a great stay.
By the way I am all the way on the other side of PA,near stroudsburg.

One more quick think I wanted to point out to you. When you look at the floorplans for a 3br it shows one room with a big bed and two rooms with two twins. I have stayed in three different 3br villas and all of them had a full size bed in one of the rooms instead of the two twins it shows. Just thought I would point it out since it sounds like you have a large party going and it might help with room arrangements. One of the sofa pulls out to a bed but it didnt look to comfortable to me.
ok thats it for now
