Has anyone tried this? I watched a video on this and it looked cool... with a prize at the end! 6 trees in each park plus two in CW.

I saw a video on this as well. Can't wait to do it. I wonder if the prize is the same at both parks.

My cousin and I just did this. We arrived on 11/16, which was the first day it started, and had lunch at Toothsome Chocolate Emporium. While we were browsing around, a guy behind the candy counter mentioned the tree hunt to us. We picked up a flyer and finished the hunt on Wednesday. (Didn't work on it on Sunday, so really just Monday & Tuesday.)

You can pick up a flyer for it at any of the trees you see, so don't worry about starting at any particular location. The trees are pretty cool and extremely well-themed to their locations. Dinosaur stuff on the one near Jurassic Park, aliens on the one in MIB, etc. The hardest to find was the one at "Silver Screen Collectibles" and we finally had to ask someone. (Pro tip - it's the Hello Kitty tree...which has NOTHING to do with 'silver screen' anything, but whatevs...)

You have to redeem them for your prize IN one of the parks. Glad we noticed that because we were going to 'cash in' for our prize on our departure day - which we didn't have park tickets for - and instead made sure to finish on our last park day so we could get our prize.

The trees are very cool and it was fun little hunt. I won't give away the prize, but I will say it made me smile. And best of all - unlike Disney's treasure hunts, this one was completely free!

Have fun!

We just got back yesterday and did this! Kids loved it. We also did the Remy scavenger hunt at Epcot last week, and I loved the fact that the one at Universal was free.

I haven't done it yet, but I'm taking my mom in on the 6th, to see the parade and Grinchmas. How long did it take you to complete it? I'm guessing a good 2-3 hours? It maybe too much walking for her, we'll have to see.

I can't really say how long it took because we just fit it into our days that were already planned. We looked at the map each day to make a mental note of which areas of the parks we needed to keep our eyes open in and just did it as we shopped.

If you're worried about too much walking, you should be aware that the trees are in BOTH parks and in CityWalk. You have to get all the stamps to get your prize.

We were also able to just work it in as we went around the park. DD11 was in charge and took care of finding the stores. It was very easy but if I were going out of my way, I’d want to know if it was worth it. In case anyone wants to know ahead of time:

It’s a cute minion ornament.
