Holiday Tour Question

Hi everyone, I have a few questions about the Holiday Tour at Christmas Time. We are going to be in Disneyland December 8-10th and think that the holiday tour sounds really great. We have a package with park hoppers booked but plan to upgrade to annual passes after using the toon town morning madness admission on Friday and the magic morning on Saturday. I know that you can get a 20% discount on the tour if you are an annual passholder, which we would be at the time we would take the tour. I also understand that you need to pay for the tour in advance and need to give them your passholder numbers at that time.

So, the question is if you book at the non-passholder rate, will Disney change the price and refund the difference (maybe on a gift card) if you are passholder at the time of the event? How would you go about doing that?

If that is not an option, what are the chances that there will still be tour spots available on the day of the event? In our case Saturday, December 10.

Is there a better way to make this all happen? Any advice that anyone can give would be really really helpful. Thanks so much!

When I made my reservation yesterday they said to just bring my DVC card with me. They didn't ask for any number at the time of booking. I'm guessing it would be the same for the AP.
