I known there's no "right" answer for this, but opinions are welcome.

We (me, dh, dd15, dd11) are going down the week before Thanksgiving, starting Thursday (11/15). First time going for Christmas decorations and Carsland. Haven't been for two years, and previously had an annual pass.

So four days Thursday-Sunday or five days Thursday-Monday. We stay all day, and like our down time doing things like the animation building. We have a reservation at the HoJo. Bad part, husband gets burned out on all things Disney, and doesn't like commando style.

Let me know your thoughts. TIA.

Have you subscribed to our Disneyland at Christmas/Holiday Season Superthread yet? If you haven't, or if you haven't checked out the first page (specifically posts #1 - #3 on page 1), you might get a better idea of what exactly there is to do at DLR during the season and how much of it you want to see/do.

There's a holiday parade, holiday fireworks, the Reindeer Round-Up, IASW Holiday at night when the lights are glowing, mini-decorations on the cottages on the Storybook Land boat ride, the nighttime Winter Castle glowing in icicle lights at night, freshly made candy canes, snow on Main Street, Santa, Haunted Mansion Holiday, the decorations at the 3 Disney hotels (which are gorgeous and worth seeing) if they're up when you're there, and possibly some new things in California Adventure too.

I think you could easily get away with 5 days during the holiday season. I don't think there's much of a difference between 4 and 5 days in terms of burnout. If it were the difference between 2 days and 5 days, then that would be significant.

However, if you think 4 days would be safer for your husband's tolerance level, go with 4 days! It will be fine. I think that the weekend before Thanksgiving will be busy, though - a lot of people arriving at DLR for their holiday break.

At Christmas time there is so much to see. All the decorations are incredible and the food, oh the food. I would say 5 days and no commando just really enjoy being in Disneyland. My 2 cents

We went for 5 days starting the 23rd and we all said we would do 1 more if we did it again. There's just so much to take in.

I would do 5 days to give you the whole weekend to take in the night time entertainment since it only runs on the weekend. We found Sunday night things cleared out and it was a great time to be in the parks.

I'd go with 5 (and more if you can get away with it)! When we used to stay 5 days we always wished for more so the last couple of times we stayed 7 and loved it! We avoid weekends because they're so much more crowded. SO - if you're going on a weekend and wanting to see all the regular sights PLUS the holiday extras I'd say definitely stay as long as possible.
