What can you tell me about the Holiday Storytellers at Epcot? What time do they start performing? Does each country do a performance every hour or is it more like 2-3 times a day? Do we have an official day they will start this year? Which countries are your favorite?

Thanks!

The schedule will be in the times guide and it'll tell you which countries are participating. Last year, I think there were maybe 4 or 5? Definitely not one in each country (though that'd be awesome!) and the times varied greatly. Some started near the 11am open time but ended mid-afternoon and some went later in the day - each happened 6 or 7 times a day.

Because the schedules are not similar at all, it was really hard to hit them all in one day.

Here is a link with listing from last year or the year before and it lists the times so you can see how they fell: http://allears.net/epcot/holidays-around-the-world-epcot-2/

Are the holiday storytellers something that would entertain an average 4 year old? I was planning to try the Chip and Dale activity with her to occupy her during our WS time, but am wondering if I should plan around the storytellers as well.

I think a 4 year old would enjoy the Norway story teller and the Chinese acrobats (not storytellers, but a good show). There is no way to see all the storytellers in one day. The schedules are spread out weird. I would just pick a couple if you are only going one day.

I agree. And the plus side is that the Norway storyteller seems to be there all day long and half the night! The kids seemed to love that one.

The acrobats are fun, as are the drummers.

OP- even at 4, my DGD loved Epcot, the WS in particular. It is visually stunning, and during the Holidays I think even more so. I woudl enlist your little one to be on teh lookout for new holiday decorations that are placed all over the WS> They are both lovely and whimsical, so that alone would have kept my DGD occupied.

My 4 year old enjoyed the story tellers and thought it was neat to learn what kids in other countries do/day/call Santa. I remember him enjoying the one in France the year we were there.

I would add on top of Norway, italy’s Storyteller (la befana) would be good for little kids. I think also France and UK would be. Out of the 4, UK would be probably the least interactive for little kids. The mariachis in Mexico sing songs and let the kids hit a piñata, so that could be fun as well. I hope they bring back a storyteller to Germany. That was missed last year.

We missed Italy last year. We plan to do it this year. We enjoyed UK but I agree that it wasn't as good for kids, but I had a hard time understanding France. His accent is so thick. My daughter had to translate for me. They did allow people who listened get pictures with the storytellers last year so that is cool.
