I think we need a thread to list all of our pet peeves and complaints regarding the holiday crowds, shopping, etc. I know that I will feel much better after I get these things off my chest. Right now, I feel like Scrooge and I don't want to be like that.

1- to the nice lady that let her 2 year old repeatedly push her shopping cart into my legs in the checkout line last night while she kept laughing at him and telling him how cute he was...thanks, I'm sure the bruising will go away in a few days

2- do people lose all sense of how to drive during the holidays? I swear that people that haven't driven a car for the remaining 364 days of the year come out to shop on the day that I do. I was nearly hit 3 times in the parking lot last night because people were backing up and not paying attention or couldn't bother to stop at the stop signs

I feel better already!!!

Now I really feel like Scrooge since I was the only one with a Christmas crowd complaint.

No, just give it some time!! Most people aren't shopping during the week. Wait until this weekend--it will be BAD!!!

That is why I shop early. When I do have to shop closer to Christmas, I like to do it early in the morning or late at night if I can.

Sorry for your frustration, and I hope the bruises go away quickly.

I went to Target last weekend for groceries. I looked at the packed parking lots of the mall and Kohl's and was SO glad I was done shopping! (And I did most of it online.)

We're all shopping online! :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

Today I was in Michaels getting some stocking stuffers for DD. This woman came down the aisle and instead of saying excuse me (I didn't realize she couldn't get by or I would have moved) she just pushed me out of the way :furious: . I could have taken her down but in the spirit of the holiday I just flipped her the bird ;) :rotfl: .

I was at Toys R Us about 2 weeks ago, and it put me in the worst mood EVER. I am not a violent person, but I was ready to punch people in the face, I swear!

First, people bring their kids to shop, and then just let them roam around the store like it's a big playground. I hate it when I walk up an aisle and there are kids sitting in my way, playing with a toy and I cannot go around them and even after I politely say "excuse me" they do not budge! Where are your parents?? Or, they come flying down the aisle on little ride on cars or bikes and then leave those said things a few aisles over from where they belong, and make it impossible for anyone to get by! Then there are the people who just park their cart in the middle of the way and wander off to look at something else! At least move it over to the side a bit, people!

THEN...you finally get to the check out counter and people walk up to the cashier for a "quick question" that turns into a 5 minute or more affair, because there is always "ONE MORE THING". I think it's so rude. If you want to ask something, go to customer service or find an associate!!

:rotfl2: I would have liked to see that. I would never have pegged you as a "flipper."

I'm done. I finished last weekend. I'm usually done by the beginning of November but this year just didn't work out for me. :teeth:

I went to Toys R Us early in the morning. There were no parking spots and the place was a madhouse. Finally found a couple of items I needed and was checking out when the computer went down. sigh. It wasn't the girl's fault and I wasn't angry or mean at all but on the inside I was screaming, PLEASE LET ME OUT OF HERE!!!

The rest of the day wasn't that bad. I went to Meijer early the next morning and I should have gone there first. They had most everything I couldn't find anywhere else!

I know what you mean. :teeth: :teeth: When I read CEDmom's post, my reaction was . :teeth: :teeth: Who knew? :teeth: :teeth: :lmao: :lmao:

I have to go to the mall tomorrow. :sad2: My mom's visiting and she wants me to take her. We'll be there when they open, I don't want to deal with all the crazies.

First I have to admit I am a Scrooge! Especially hate the shopping crowds!

So of course, I have more than one gripe!!!

My DH is in a WC & we have a handicap lift van. Naturally every handicap parking spot at the whole mall has a car in it without permits!!!! That really burns me up! :furious:

Reeeaaalllly obnoxious store employees! We check out our some Christmas stuff at Home Depot. I can't walk straight out because there are empty baskets in front of the checkout. (My DH in his wheelchair is behind me.) So I walk around the next cash register, push baskets out of the way to get through & I'm still blocked by baskets. AND a store employee talking with the cashier. I say excuse me, excuse me & she ignores me & just keeps talking!!!!! I have to move more baskets out of the way, to get mine through & DH has to be careful to not run her over! (Maybe he should have just rolled over her toes!) She continued to act like she didn't see either of us!!!! If I wasn't already so p*!!! I would have asked for a supervisor. But I think If I started to say anything, I would have totally lost it & went off on her!

From the holiday tune "Parking Spaces"...

"When that Beamer cuts in front, swerving while you linger,
Peace on earth, good will toward men,
Put down that middle fi-ING-ger!"

About 8 years back, a friend and I drove to a swanky upscale mall in Silicon Valley. I drove around the parking lot for about 15 minutes looking for a parking space to no avail when a lady exiting the mall flagged me down and told me to follow her and I could have her space when she pulled out. Another car pulled up as the woman was pulling out and she had to physically use her car to block the other car from stealing the space from me! The niceness of that lady and the meanness of the other driver really illustrate the Christmas shopping season for me.

I try to get most of my shopping done before Dec. And when I'm out in Dec., I try to leave extra time, watch out for pedestrians, and let other drivers go first. I avoid malls during Dec. whenever possible... too many people stressed out.

hi, my name is TinkandAriel and I am a (somewhat) reformed flipper. :rotfl: :rotfl: Oy, I used to be bad with that. Til the youngster came along. I swear I almost came unglued on a lady in a Wal-Mart parking lot one day bc she flipped me off and I had my 5yo with me. (so sorry I was faster than her getting to a parking space while she was blabbin on her cell). And, she stopped her vehicle behind mine as I was getting out and gave me and 5yo an earful of obscenities that would have made my mama blush. Some older couple walking by helped me out by reprimanding her "young lady you should be ashamed speaking that way! and in front of an innocent child no less. Shame on you". My 5yo was pretty oblivious btw. but I was steamed.

Was this Valley Fair??? I stay far faaaaaarrrr away from that mall, especially during the holidays!! :crowded:

I have one....stores that aren't open 'holiday hours.' I need a specific Department 56 item. I think Department 56 is a pretty popular holiday thing and I would suspect this is their 'busy time.' I get that it is a small mom and pop collector's store but really could they be open past 6pm?

I don't get off work until 530 if I'm lucky. DH doesn't get home until after 6, even if I went straight there I would need to take DS with me.

They aren't open on Sunday and are only open noon-5 on Saturday Well again with DS, we have sports, activities and other family stuff on Saturday afternoon.

They are really making it difficult for me to get into their store and spend $$$.
