Holiday pricing- what am I doing wrong?

I've just quoted on the DLP website for a holiday staying at the DLH from 29/5- 3/6/11. The cost was £1,727.60

But when I checked the online brochure, I worked out that for 4 nights + additional night for the same dates it comes to £1008 +£220 for the additional night- £1228.

Can anyone explain why the two prices don't tally?

What am I doing wrong?

Can't seem to get the website to load to check for you, but there is a good chance that the online system is automatically giving you an upgraded room selection.
Click "select alternative room type" (or something along those lines) and you might be able to save money there.
If it's not that, you might have to phone them.

Have you included travel on the online one by mistake or included a child that is under 3 (but made them over 3) or only put one adult so you have a supplement.
Someone also said they are bringing up more expensive rooms first so you need to get other options for cheaper rooms so it may have brought up a family room or something

Found the answer!
Afraid to say that the brochure price you are looking at is per ADULT not per room
Therefore the online price is the total brochure price with the 30% off

I think my DLH dream may have to be shelved yet again! The brochure price was out of my league- minus the additional adult aka DH, but the real price is a whole galaxy out of my league

Should also have added- hope you have a fab time at HNY tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you. Hope it's a magical holiday- I'm sure it will be- DLP always looks amazing with its Christmas decorations.

Hate being the bearer of bad news
The Hotel New York (when you remove the sneaky lake view option) comes in at £1030 for those dates - a far more appealing option budgetwise!
I've got the DLH dream too but the prices get worse rather than better every year, I think I'll need to win the lottery
It might be worth holding out to see if a 40% off offer comes along in March again, we got 5 nights at the HNY for 3 adults for about £850 with 40% off.
Maybe you could do one night at DLH and the rest at a different hotel...? This is something I have in the back of my mind for future trips!

I'm a teacher, so have to go then. I can't in the summer, as DS2 can't tolerate extremes of temperature.

We usually stay at HNY, so maybe we'll have to go that route again.

I've got the same dilemma too ~ we're tied to May half-term too, and actual dates even as we've already booked flights home. We've already booked the Explorers on a fully cancellable rate and were hoping to get 40% off but this 30% discount has totally thrown us. My DH wants to book as he says if we wait and then 40% isn't offered for our dates we'll be kicking ourselves. I'm quite happy to stay at the Explorers and buy tickets/APs again but as we're only going for two nights this time I would like to be closer to the parks.

Having thought about it over night-(during which DS2 was up for most of it+ our boiler broke!) I think we're going to book anyway. May half term is the only time we can go, so I don't want to gamble on the 40% off coming along and risk us not having a holiday, when we've been saving for one for 2 years.

The dilemma for us now is- HNY or DLH. We have saved enough for neither, but I'm thinking of putting it on my credit card, as we need this holiday!!!!

The advantage with May half term is that it is off peak - its the only school holiday time that we have in the UK that they dont have in Europe, so other holidays tend to be more expensive.

If you arrive 30 May rather than 29th its cheaper as weekend arrivals are generally more expensive - we are going to the Kyriad for the night of 29th so we can check in at HNY early on the 30th and make the most of EMH from that day - depending on how you are travelling this may work for you too? We are also going there for the Friday night, so we will have 5 full days in the parks but only have 4 nights of expensive hotel to pay for!

we have only been in school hols ( aug and oct ) or weekends,so only know it as being busy! lol

Have never really thought about May half term before....
we love Halloween theming and summer is good too as of course you get better weather ,and longer opening hours etc

1.7k is waaaaay more than I would pay for a DLP holiday anyway though!
