The Parks Blog announced this year's Holiday Pin Series Disney Gift Card. They're essentially a $75 gift card that comes with a pin. There are four designs (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto).

I saw them in the parks last week at Julius Katz & Sons (DCA), the Showcase Shop (Main Street), the Emporium, and a few other locations. They weren't terribly plentiful and it was tough to find all four designs. Most places had either Goofy, Pluto, or Minnie, but I only saw Mickey at the Showcase Shop. They're pretty cute and if you're planning on doing some shopping and/or dining at DLR, it's a fun way to get a "free" souvenir (the gift card is worth $75 and can be spent like any other gift card).

Parks Blog: Bundle Up with New Disney Trading Pins with the Purchase of a Holiday Pin Series Disney Gift Card

wdwinfo: Disney theme parks offer limited edition trading pin with $75 gift cards

Love these! When I was at WDW last month I bought enough of these to pay off my Disney hotel bill (meals and souvenirs) and ended up with a bunch of free pins. Great trading stock or even stocking stuffers :)

If you plan to do this, make sure you pay off your hotel bill the evening before checkout (or earlier) so your credit card doesn't get charged before you have a chance to use your gift cards.

Oh how cool! I'd love to get some of these but it seems they are only available in the park, correct? We are going in February so the gift cards would definitely get used plus my kids would get additional pins for their collection.

Hmmm, does Napa Rose accept Disney gift cards like these? We're taking DGD to the Chef's Counter at Napa Rose in early January. The cost will be enough to account for 4 cards - one of each kind of pin.

I forgot to look this time, but sometimes they sell them at World of Disney, Pin Traders, and the the hotels. I haven't seen them at any of the Disney Stores in the mall or online. In most cases, I do think they'll sell out before the holiday season ends.

I always love the timeliness of Disney's announcements. I bought my gift cards with free pins during Thanksgiving week. They had been out for a few days or maybe a week by then according to the CMs I spoke to. Hard to say what will happen this year, but I believe they were sold out last year by the time we went back for New Year's Eve so I wouldn't count on them lasting all the way through the holiday season as Disney defines it (Jan. 8).

That fits with the timelines from some of the previous years. I know the series in 2014(?) came out with the official start of the holiday season, so it makes sense that they first were released in mid-November this year. That would explain why it was getting hard to find all four designs - they've been available for a while and Mickey is probably the most popular. Yeah, I don't quite know why the Parks Blog posts some things right on time and waits for other things...
