Most days I am craft challenged and some how or another I have ended up in charge of the craft table at my 5th grade son's Holiday Party.:confused3

So, I need some ideas for an ornament or the such that the kids can make. The good news is that they have requested a craft table, so I won't be getting a lot of resistance. Also, I am trying to come up with something that we can use their picture on as I am quite sure that this is the last opportunity that we will have to do so with our 'babies'

Any advice or better yet, ideas?

Thanks,
S~T

I don't have any ideas that incorporate photos, but DD's 5th grade class made a series of ornaments that tied in with their study of American history. They did tin punch, quilling, needlepoint/crewel work & something else that I can't remember right now. For the quilling, the room mothers had cut construction paper into narrow strips that the kids could then roll with their fingers so no tools were required. They made them into snowflakes...so all it required was just paper strips, glue & toothpicks. That was the one craft that both boys & girls liked as I recall. LOL The boys weren't happy about the needlework & some of the girls weren't really into wielding a hammer. ;)

Now they did those the week before the party. At the actual party someone brought in white glass balls that got turned into snowmen...painted faced, pompoms for earmuffs & a strip of fabric tied around like a head scarf. That didn't work out nearly as well as the other ones...not enough time, balls got dropped & broken, paint got on party clothes, glue didn't dry...personally I hated that project even though the ones that got finished were really cute.
