We are invited to a holiday open house at the home of one of DH's superiors. What is appropriate to bring with us, if anything. I know there are "rules" to follow when it comes to your superiors, but I am afraid I am not well schooled in this area. This person isn't someone we know extremely well, I see his wife and children around the community ocassionally and they only moved here in August so he hasn't been DH's superior for long. So please tell me what is appropriate to bring. Thanks!

If you mean some kind of "hostess gift," I usually take some sort of tree ornament. Now that I think of it, it may not be politically correct. Wine may be not be appropriate for a superior. How about a nice tray of homemade goodies wrapped tight so that they can enjoy them later?

You can't go wrong with a nice holiday flower arrangement or a plant.

I'd stay away from wine or food unless you know they like a certain something.

Good luck!

How about an assortment of truffles? Something they can share if they want, or keep to themselves (like I would!!).
