Holiday Inn WDW Hotwire $35!!

Hi,

The trip insurance at Hotwire is actually provided by another company affiliated with Hotwire. They actually bill you seperately from the hotel/trip cost. The good thing is the cost of the insurance depends on the cost of the trip. The more expensive the trip, the more the insurance but it should not be too expensive. Our insurance was $20.00 for a seven night trip. I think that it's worth the money. HTH

Iheoma,
Before you buy the insurance, does it spell out under what conditions your money will be refunded?

Question for anyone who has booked with Hotwire:
How many of you have actually purchased the travel insurance?

Thanks!!princess:

I'm slightly upset. We booked our trip through Hotwire last AUGUST with two air tix and four night at the Courtyard by Marriott for $618. I just found this post and learned that the Courtyard was sold to Holiday Inn. I didn't want to stay in a Holiday Inn (bad exp. in the past), I wanted to stay in a Marriott!

I called Hotwire and they were very snotty. First guy tried to argue with me, saying I bought the package for a Holiday Inn, not the Courtyard. I tried explaining that the hotel was sold and asked if there was anything he could do for me. He said "no" and put me on hold. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she told me she'd lodge my complaint and send my information to "the research team," whatever that is.

All in all, I now think we've overpaid for this trip looking at the posts you guys have made concerning the $35/$34 per nite.

Don't know if we'll be using Hotwire again just because of their attitudes. I know it wasn't their fault, but they could have been a little more cordial. Oh well. :teeth:

Cindala,

Sorry for taking so long to respond I forgot about this thread for a while. The trip insurance does tell you exactly what is needed in order to file a claim. I think you have to click on the link for more information but you can see it prior to buying it. HTH

These prices are for super off season in February.

Matt: That's the problem. We leave Wednesday (Feb. 4-8)! We just BOOKED the trip last August, 2003. On the up side, I just really discovered where the location of the hotel is, and we're surprisingly pleased. We thought it was in a different place.

What is the room occupancy at that Holiday Inn. We have ressies at ASMO, but I'm thinking of switching at that price. Since the parks are closing early on the days we are there, then being by Downtown Disney is a plus. Also, how far of a walk is it to DD and do you have to cross any major streets to get there? Thanks!!!

Guestrooms hold a maximum of 5 guests and have two double beds (or one king-sized bed with a pull out sofa). It's a short walk to DD. Leaving WDW property, the HI is the second hotel on the right. (First on the right is the Hilton). You cross a very busy street, but there are walkways and a pedestrian traffic light, so it's not a problem. Hotel Blvd. is a great location to stay if you are interested in DD!
