Holiday Inn Universal

Hello!
Has anyone ever stayed at the Holiday Inn that it located "at the entrance to Universal Studios"? How convenient is it? Can you walk (safely) to the parks?
Any info you can give would be very helpful!

We stayed there 5 years ago. It was fine. It IS right across from Universal, but you really can't walk, in my opinion. We had a 2BR suite, facing the park, so we could see the fireworks each night (we were on the top floor).

The suites were in the renovated space at that time. We had a suite that slept up to 10, it was huge! (there are 6 of us). Full size refrig, kitchen, etc.

Pool was small, and only ok.

When we went they were offering that kids eat free promotion, and we have 4 kids.
