I made ressies here for a kidsuite. What is a good price? Has anyone ever stayed here. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi! I was going to stay at the Holiday Inn Sunspree, I read some good reviews and not so good reviews, a friend of mine stayed there last year and said the hotel is sort of old, the carpet was dirty and the t.v. didn't work. ( Some of the same feelings are echoed on the mouse planet website-You can read reviews about Holiday Inn Sunspree at www.mouseplanet.com.

A very nice Holiday Inn Family Suites, is very nice. (went last month) Very nice accomodations for families, lots of children's acitivities, close to Disney by car. (10-15 min tops)
Their website is: www.familysuites.com.
I think you would be very happy with HIFS! Good luck! enjoy!:bounce: :smooth:

We stayed at the Sunspree a few years ago and didn't notice any dirt or aging. It just seemed like a typical Holiday Inn to us only with theming in the kidsuites. It was a nice place to stay particularly for the location. It's just across the highway from the Downtown Disney area and it only took us a few minutes to drive into Disney property.

I would however make sure that I had a car if it were me. The buses only ran at specific times and you had to reserve a place when we went. We prefer to come and go whenever we please. The food wasn't great but I believe that they may have upgraded it since that time. The pool is huge and a bit noisy but it does close down each night.

I personally had no problem with the Sunspree except for the food at the time and the buses. The hotel itself was just fine.

We stayed one time and then switched to the HIFS, which I much prefer. The Sunspree room was very dark, as the kidsuite is in the front, near the door and blocks the light to the rest of the room. Also, our carpet stayed wet the whole visit (2 nights). Perhaps it had just been cleaned, but it never got dry. It would be OK if it's cheaper than HIFS, but otherwise I'd go there.

Wow - it was 4 yrs ago that we went to WDW, and I still cringe when I hear Holiday Inn Sunspree !! I thought I would save our family some money, and I booked the Sunspree back in 1997. When we got to the hotel, it was dirty, the elevators weren't working, the walls were paper-thin - it was a nightmare !! The worst - the shuttle bus to WDW has to be reserved 24hrs in advance. When we checked-in (this was late Sept off-season) we were told that the first opening for the shuttle was 11 AM !!! If you don't get a reservation for a return shuttle, you could spend a fortune on taxis ! I guess this would not be such a big deal if you have your own car. Anyway, we got to our room shell-shocked (the only positive thing - our kids loved the bunk beds in the kid suite) - I just about started to cry. Then we called the PO Resort. My DH and I had stayed there in 1991 and loved it. They got us in for our whole trip at a great rate. We did spend one night at the Sunspree, but as soon as the sun started to rise the next AM, we were in a cab to the PO. We had a WONDERFUL vacation !! I don't think we would ever stay off of Disney property again for a WDW vacation (even if we were planning on seeing other attractions in the Orlando area) !!:earseek: :earseek:

We stayed last year at the Sunspree, the rooms were old and the carpeting was dirty. The pool was nice. This year we stayed at Marriott Village it was great.

We stayed at the Sunspree last year and it was GROSS. The elevators never worked. The carpets were dirty. The bathroom was moldy. The pool area was dirty. But the most disgusting thing of all was that there were ants all over the one of the kids' beds. We had just gotten there and the kids were so happy with their little room until they pulled down the bedcovers and there were dozens of ants in the bottom bunk. We freaked and called the front desk. This was at 4:00 in the afternoon and despite several calls, they never even came to change the linens, offer to move us to another room, etc. Needless to say, the kids slept in our bed that night which totally defeated the purpose.

The manager never returned our calls and when we left, we phoned him again to tell him and he could not have cared less.

When we moved on to the next part of our vacation in a WDW hotel, we could have wept for joy.

I would not stay in the Sunspree HI again if I were offered it for free.
