We just returned from there. Just curious about reviews of others who have stayed there. The place was pretty full. My kids loved the pool and it was a nice sized one. I didn't get to try out the hot tub..too tired when we got back from Epcot.

I know it's an older place, but after reading the reviews prior to going, I was really hesitant about staying there. However, our room was clean. It was on the parking lot side, but right by the breezeway to the pool. My parents were in the closest room across the breezeway from us. We were on the ground floor which was fine with me because of my back problems....no hauling luggage upstairs or to the elevator. We parked right outside our door most of the time.

It must have been renovated again since the older reviews on here. Like I said, our room was clean and fairly updated. The beds were OK..no major complaints..linens clean and not wrinkled. They did have too much cover on them, but better that than not enough. We had a microwave and fridge. There were plenty of clean towels and although we took our own soap, shampoo, etc., what they had was nice. Security did make their presence known although I never saw anyone in the guard station at the entrance. My mom left the door to her room cracked open and thought it was closed. She heard a knock and it was security warning her the door was open and cautioning her to keep it locked at all times for her own safety. We did see them patrolling the parking lots at night and on our last day there, saw a guy being chased by them.

I've stayed in nicer, more upscale places. But this one was clean and I didn't detect any of the musty smokey smells others mentioned in older posts. Anyone else have a recent stay with a different opinion?

Thanks for the review. Did you get a good rate for this place and how did you book it?

:lmao: This was the place I stayed with my DH on our first trip to WDW back in the mid 90's. I remember the room being ok and the pool and hot tub was great. We loved the food there. The only down fall was the bus to the park. The buses were old and the bus drivers constantly :worship: begged for tips!!! They got you coming & going. Plus it took forever to get anywhere and the buses had no air. After that trip we never stayed offsite again. The reason being the transportation. If it wasn't for that it would have been ok.

How was the transportation on your recent stay? Or did you rent a car?

We drove down to Florida in 2 vehicles because my mom and dad were staying longer to visit other relatives down there. We took one car to Epcot. We were staying for the fireworks and their shuttle doesn't run that late. I was shocked it didn't bother me driving down there. I'm one who hates driving in large cities too, but it wasn't bad at all. There was even a traffic light out at a major intersection, no cops directing and that wasn't even bad. Drivers stopped and let those lanes go through too. I was shocked. I was even out late on Saturday night looking for my favorite soda. (Next time I'll take a case of Mello Yello with me!)

I didn't drive to Epcot though, my dad did since his car was larger. Parking wasn't bad and we didn't get there until just before 10am. We were close enough we walked in instead of taking the shuttle from the parking lot to Epcot. That night though, we were all exhausted and took the shuttle back to the parking lot after the fireworks.

We only paid the taxes on the HISS stay. My dad owns timeshares and was down for a tour of a new one being built inside Disney. He signed us up for a tour too so that we were all staying at the same place. There was a flyer out with the dinner special one night that was priced around $15. Breakfast looked to be a bit pricey...around $8 for a plain omelet. We ate breakfast in the room since we had a fridge and microwave except the morning we went to Epcot. That morning we ate at a buffet that I don't recommend. It was sorta clean and cheap BUT the food wasn't good at all, except the sausage gravy.

This was a quick trip at the last minute. Our original trip was booked for June and we were supposed to stay at one of the condos. But my dad has been very sick and we had to cancel then. But he really wanted to take my kids to DW. When his oncologist gave him the OK to travel, he rescheduled the trip.

I think my kids enjoyed the fireworks more than anything. They were fascinated and are still talking about them.

Thank you for your review :) . I need to find a place for two nights before we check into a condo at WH and this is one I am considering. We stayed here in 2004 but a lot can change between now and then ;) .
