Is there a specific "Entertainment Book" that is needed and if yes, can someone provide a link to where it can be bought.

I called the hotel directly and the girl wasn't very helpful. She said she didn't know what book it was but I would have to have the card to get the rate. Err, thanks!

Any book would work for the hotel discount.

I ordered my book through the website fatwallet. www.fatwallet.com If you registar with them they give you a $5 rebate on the purchase of the book. As a newbie to the entertainment book, how do you get the rate once you buy the book? Do the books have a coupon or code needed? Do you call the hotel directly (or the 800 national number) and ask for the rate, then present the coupon, or do you present a card of some sort?

You don't need the coupon to book up now (no codes are needed) - just when you book and choose your rate - choose the entertainment rate. Just make sure that you have the book and/or the entertainment card when you show up at the hotel - just in case they ask for it. If you are not traveling any time soon, wait til about mid March when the books are almost given away at $10. And you can get a book from your own town if you'd like - you don't have to get the Orlando book. BTW, I mis-spoke on my OP when I said the books are $10 now - but they will be very soon. They are actually $10 off (of $25-$30). Trust me they will be soon. I almost always wait til about Feb/March when they drop the price considerably - usually around $10. Its worth it - if you rent cars - their rental car codes are really good (20% off rates at Budget and enterprise) - some free upgrade codes at Hertz and some free day codes too - a few others I can't remember off the top of my head. BTW, Alamo is having a good sale on a mid-size SUV (Saturn Vue) for only $134 a week - I booked myself one of these for my July trip at the Orlando Airport - and you can use other codes too (I used a free day on that weekly rate of $134). I'd book it now (and you don't have to put up a credit card to reserve it either) and add your codes later - just to make sure you get the car.

And my cousin just recently returned from this hotel and told me her suite was perfect - not one complaint. But they did not spend a lot of time in their room. If you call the hotel directly they will tell you ALL of their suites have been remodeled. But other rooms have not as of now! My cousin described it to me as if the suites were all on one side of the hotel. I would call her again but she talks too much and will keep me on the phone for hours, so the next time I HAVE to talk with her I will and report it back to this board.

I stayed at that hotel New Year's Eve 2004, loved it! The suite we stayed in was a one bedroom with a cute little kitchenette. We loved the kids eat free deal at TGIF and took advantage of it everyday we were there! Got it for about $50 a night on Hotel Kingdom.

Since Michael and I have stayed at approx 30 hotels in Orlando since 1999, I asked for his review. Being 13 he usually only has two responses, "that place was cool" or "ugh, not that place again"... and he said the first!

I couldn't compare anything to the onsite hotels but themselves. The proximity to the parks, the luxury and the FOTL takes away the comparison to any offsite. Regardless, the prices are getting ridiculous so if I DO stay offsite it has to be a nice place!
