Does anyone know if you can easily walk from the HI on Walnut and enter the parks from DTD or do you have to go all the way around to Harbor?
Also does anyone know if HI has free parking?
Thanks!

I stayed here for night last sept. and there is no way I would walk from there to the parks and yes it has free parking.....the hotel was really nice..I got a deal from priceline on it...the only downside to it was I had to be moved twice because the smell of smoke in the rooms were horrid and its supposed to be non smoking hotel...but they finally got me in a room that hadnt had anyone smoking in it and it was great...I had a hard time finding it...we got in there late and I was tired so I kept missing it lol...

Yes, you can walk south to Magic Way, then east a block and duck into the parking lot tram pickup area. Much easier than walking through DTD.

Thanks, I am staying there on my trip and was wondering about that since I heard there was a giant wall around the parking garage so you couldn't just cut in there.

That huge wall around the parking lot is very annoying but you are able to walk around it. It is a much longer walk than if you are staying at one of the Harbor Blvd. hotels.
When we stayed there, our family walked to the Mickey and Friends tram and rode that into Downtown Disney. It took about 10 minutes to walk to the tram. The only thing that bothered me was walking home at night. We were the only ones walking along that big wall. If we were really tired at the end of the day, my husband would walk to the hotel, get the car and drive to the pick up area on the opposite side of the park.

Thanks for the info. The walk was a deal breaker for me!
