Has anyone stayed at the Holiday Inn on Walnut Street? I needed something cheap for my solo trip (whole trip is cheap, using the last couple of days of my AP and flying for free using rapid rewards credits from SW) and I got the Holiday Inn on Hotwire for $59 a night. The HoJo ent. book rate was only available for the first night of my stay, so I decided to try Hotwire. This Holiday Inn was listed as a 3*, so hopefully it will be decent. I'm not expecting fantastic, from the pictures it looks rather outdated, but I'm hoping for clean and a somewhat friendly and helpful staff. I understand the public areas are under renovation right now, so no pool, restaurant, etc., but those things don't really bother me as I plan on spending my time in the parks. Any feedback would be appreciated....LOL, though since it's Hotwire, it's a done deal, non-refundable, so maybe if you have truly horrendous things to say, I'd be better off not knowing! :rotfl:

Stayed here 5 nights in June 08. I also purchased it off Hotwire. It is nothing fancy, but comfortable. We had two queen beds which were quite comfortable. It was large enough for two adults and one 9yr old.
We were also able to walk to Downtown Disney, about a 10-15 minute walk, and another 5 or so to Disneyland. Not bad going, but used the shuttle back, as the feet were tired by that time.

Hope this helps.

yep and I even have pics of the room...I got it for one night on Priceline before we moved over to GC and paid $45 ....the only bad thing I can say about this place is that although it is a smoke free hotel, they put us in a room that was filled with smoke and I couldnt handle it, but they moved us to another floor straight away no problem.. I had a hard time finding it but once I did I got back no problem :rotfl: ...if your interested in the pics pm me

This helps a lot, thank you so much! This is what I was hoping for, nothing fancy, just comfortable and clean. Thanks for info on the walking times, too.

Thanks for the info, and be looking for a PM, I'd love to see pics of the room! Glad to hear the staff was easy to work with when there was a problem.

Hubby and I stayed there a few years ago and it was just fine! It was nothing fancy, but it was clean and the staff was very nice. We liked it!

We stayed there in feb and it was nice and clean, we liked the shuttle on site and the resturant.

We are also staying there this weekend. I never have a problem with a hotel doing renovation..because it means updates and improvements, which is always a good thing.

We like to stay there for quick get aways. I'm pickey about where I stay and I've never felt uncomfortable there at all.
:goodvibes
The shuttle is nice. Plus there they have cards of local chinese food places and pizza that deliver.

Have a wonderful trip.

Thanks Fairykin and Tlovesdis for your replies! I feel better knowing that it's a decent place to stay! Fairykin, have a great time on your trip this weekend!

ahhh..what a nice thing to say! Thank you for being so sweet.:grouphug:

You travel safe and have a good time on your trip!:goodvibes
