We just got back last night from a 5 day stay here. We won this on priceline for $27 a night. After reading all the reviews (some good-- some bad), I was really nervous about what we might find. I kept telling myself it couldn't be that bad--- it was a Holiday Inn afterall.
Check-in time is 4pm. We tried to check-in around 2:30-- no go!! They don't allow early check-in's we were told. This lead to a line being almost 15 people long when we got there at 4pm. We had won 2 rooms as we were traveling w/ my MIL. She got a smoking room (upon req.) that smelled terrible!! She didn't care though and kept it. Our room actually smelled really fresh. That was the biggest plus. The carpets are very, very stained. I'm talking large black stains everywhere!! The lamps are actually rusting. Looks like someone put spray paint over them. This is chipping off and they are beginning to rust. The wallpaper border is falling off as well. The items appeared to be generally clean, but very, very old and worn!!
The room itself was an okay size. A little larger than your standard hotel room. Parking was horrendous if you came back after 7pm. Housekeeping liked to knock on your door to inquire about cleaning at 7am, even if your Don't Disturb sign was up.
The pool water was very, very warm. Lots of leaves in the pools though. Just a hint. The "Mickey head" pool is always crowded it seemed. The other pools were almost always empty. They have limited seating around the pools, and what they do have is falling apart.
We did eat at Angels Diner one night (on site). We got different food from what we ordered and that took almost 90 minutes. We didn't go again. In fairness, the food was pretty good.
We stayed here, but weren't real happy with the place. I'm not super picky either. I look for clean and modern. This place didn't fit the modern bill at all. I won't ever stay here again, and won't bid 2.5 stars on priceline in this area, just to be safe.
