Hi,

I am hoping someone out there can tell me something about this hotel / motel. We are only staying ther our first night, before moving to the Vistana Resort.

Is this place any good - or are things crawling on the walls?

Are there decent restaurants (with children's menus) nearby to get a quick dinner when we arrive?

How long a drive (timewise) from here to Animal Kingdom - we have 8:30 PS at Rainforest Cafe for the next morning?

Thanks for your help.

The COUNTDOWN CLOCK is getting really close now.:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Click on hyperlink above or if that doesn't work copy and paste this for Nikki Birds Reservation Web Site. Has hotel info.

We (DS, DH & I) stayed 2 weeks, minus the weekend in between, 6 years ago and went back again last year for 1 week. Rooms are clean and not buggy. Little lizards scurry around outside. They're cute. Pools, hot tubs and kiddie pools are nice and clean.
There is an Angel's Diner with diner type fare. Food is good. Lunch and Dinner. Also has Pizza Hut pizzas.
There is a Buffet restaurant in the back that serves Breakfast and Dinner. Had the room rate with breakfast included last year. It only covers 2 people in the room, but kids 12 and under eat free with paying adult. We ate there every morning last year.
When you check the room rates, just leave it at "Best Available". All prices will come up from lowest to highest. The Best Breaks include the Breakfast.

Any more ?????? Just ask.

We're going July 7-18 to Hotel Royal Plaza at Downtown Disney this year to try something new. We have also stayed at Wilderness Lodge twice and Coronado Springs. The weekend between our 2 weeks 6 years ago we stayed at a Residence Inn near Universal and 3 years ago we stayed at the Days Inn Universal (This place was disgusting and dirty. Guess you get what you pay for. I think it was $49/ night. We will never stay there again) All the other places were very nice.

Can't wait till July.

Thank you Disneyholic.

We already have reservations there for about $60 per night. Like I said, we are only staying the first night there. Really all we need is a clean place to sleep for the night and this sounds like it will fit the bill.

Do you know how long the drive is from the Nikki Bird to Animal Kingdom?

Thanks again .

I REALLY LIKE WATCHING THE COUNTDOWN CLOCK NOW - LESS THAN A MONTH TO GO :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

It's about 5 to 10 minutes. It's closer than the Magic Kingdom.

Just do a right turn out of the parking lot onto 192. You will see sign for Walt Disney World. Just follow the signs for Animal Kingdom after you get onto World Drive.

We still have over a month and DH is asking why I haven't started packing yet. He was packed a year in advance of last years trip and is already packed for this years. He's 59 and the biggest kid I've ever known. I can plan a vacation for anywhere and he'll be happy, but plan a trip to Disney World and his eyes light up.

Have fun.
