Holiday Inn Maingate East - Renovations???

I am close to booking a one week stay at the Holiday Inn Maingate East, as I am getting a really great package deal. However, the majority of reviews for this hotel on trip advisor are horrible, but I believe they were written before a massive renovation - the rooms look beautiful on the hotel website. Can anyone tell me if this property has in fact received an overhaul and when (and anything else they might know about this property)? It would be greatly appreciated.

Call the hotel and ask when their last renovation was if you are still uncomfortable.

is the holiday inn the same thing as comfort suites?

Jenfrog79: They changed the name from Travelodge Maingate East to Holiday Inn Maingate East - they've been renovating the hotel since January, and just had their official name-change celebration (they'd even been calling it Orlando Fun Spot Hotel or something like that while the hotel was being worked on).

I stayed there many many years ago when it was a Travelodge, and it was decent enough, I suppose. I haven't heard from anyone that's stayed there after the renovation, so who knows. But, most hotels seem to be on their best behaviour after a renovation, so you'll probably be ok.
