I never saw this hotel talked about here, so thought I would give my review of it.
We just got back and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Garden Grove. There is one in Anaheim, but we were sort of last minute so they didn't have the room we wanted.
It was only three miles away, easy drive to the Mickey and Friends Parking. In fact, we saw a group of women with matching DL vacation shirts there.
No long line at the front desk. Ok- we checked in at 9:30pm after a day of DL, but check out at 7am took less than a minute.
ART stops there, but I would still rather take my own car. If you get there at opening, you park in Pinocchio which is an open lot and not far from the tram. The trams were not crowded either. Most times we just hopped on.
The hotel was pretty nice. We got it for $99 a night through Travelocity for two queens. Free internet. Free parking and easy to find a space. The free breakfast was pretty good too. Not as fancy as the Embassy Suites, but much better than most places. Loved the cinnamon roles!
The room was comforatable, not cramped. Comfy beds, choice of hard or soft pillows. The shower was awesome. Curved shower curtain rod and the BEST shower head I've ever used! Thick towels, not those thin things even fancy hotels like to give you. Only one sink in the bathroom, but there is a mirror over the desk that I used also after washing up.
We would go back again. I know a lot of people like to walk to their hotel, but I'm tired at the end of day. And I do not like crowding on to shuttles. With our car there, it wasn't hard to go out to the car and drop off packages once during the day, and then return to the park. We were also able to move our car up to a better space at that time too.
