Has anyone stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Lake Buena Vista recently?
It is located on 8686 Palm Parkway.
Thought I read that it has just undergone some renovations.
Looking for a clean place not 5* accomodations.
We would be using frequent stay points, so the stay would be free.
Don't want to stay in a dump even if it is free. :sad2:
Thanks much

I did a search on this forum and could not find any info on this specific hotel. Is that a HI Express or just a Holiday Inn?????

Holiday Inn Express now, although may have been a different hotel previously. Not sure. I believe they started taking reservations for Jan '06.
That was the note on the website before Jan '06, now that note is not on the website. So not sure if they were a HI Express before and closed down for renovations or HI bought it from someone else and turned it into a HI Express.
I also did a search and didn't find anything.
Any help or info is much appreciated.

Hi MImom, (I'm an MImom too, BTW! :))

I just did a Google search of the address and came up with the Radisson Inn Lake Buena Vista...it shows up the same way on my Microsoft Streets map. I can't tell you anything else, other than it appears to be located near the intersection of Palm Parkway and Apopka-Vineland Rd., which would make it very convenient to DTD. Perhaps try Trip Advisor for some reviews, though it could be way different under new management...

edited to add: I just tried to look up this Radisson on Trip Advisor and found the same address to be listed as The Palm Parkway Resort. Geez, no wonder you're confused--so am I! :sad2:

Local Girl, thanks for helping a fellow Michigander by looking that up.
I didn't think of Googling (is that a word?) the address.
Really appreciate the info.
Will look in some of my older Disney tour guides and see if either of those hotels show up. Although the info will probably be outdated.
We are staying on points, just for a few days until we go to the Nick. So as long as it's not dirty, we should be OK.
My thanks again.

I was booked into that hotel at $139 advance rate, then cancelled to get a 1-bedroom at Cypress Pointe Grand Villas (a few minutes away) for $82! All my research indicated that it was Radisson Inn and Palm Parkway Hotel in its previous lives! :) I figured if it was recently remodeled it should be OK, and Holiday Inn is a reasonable chain. I think you will be OK there - it's a good, safe area as far as I know.

Thanks, you are right, along with cleanliness, safety is very important.
I also appreciate you researching the hotel and what it was in it's past lives.
I'll have to let everyone know what the hotel was like when I return home.

It's sounding as if the HI just took it over recently. I've stayed at numerous HI Expresses in other area's and always thought they were pretty nice.

However, I've always thought the same thing about Holiday Inn's too. That was until I stayed at the Nikki Bird. That place just wasn't up to the same standards as the other Holiday Inn's I've been too.
