Was wondering if anyone had any info on this place? Been looking for a holiday inn to use some of our reward points at and the HIFS takes alot of points. Some of the other H. Inn's look a little iffy.
But this place looks new. And it says it is on the Summer Bay property?
I am wondering how far that is to the parks or if there are any "shortcuts"? We usually stay over near the crossroads when we stay offsite so I don't know much about this area. I feel really in lost about this area.

Here's a cut and paste from another reply of mine about summer bay:

>>>>>>I have stayed at this resort. It's nice clean and I'd stay there again. That said, Did they tell you exactly what type of accom. you will have? They have full size condos, smaller villa type condos and a new Holiday Inn, that has suites on property. They also have another hotel ( The Inn at Summer Bay) that is across 192 which also gives you full access to the resort facilities. If you have not checked out the website, here it is www.summerbayresort.com<<<<<<<<

The Hoiday Inn is new and looks nice. It's not really in the town of Clermont.. it is on 192 right before you reach 27 that heads up to Clermont. There's a new shopping center near there. You can take the short cut that comes out near Animal Kingdom Lodge. I found some pretty great rates there over Christmas...but I ended up getting the AP rate at Pop Century. So I cancelled..

My husband and I stayed here with our points last May. It was new, clean, and it had a refrigerator and microwave in the room. The pool was small, but we didn't have the kids with us so it didn't matter. The location didn't seem bad at all, I don't remember there being much traffic to get there. The room had provided us with a list of activities from Summer Bay, some were free, some had a fee. It was a nice, quiet area of town. I would stay there again if I wanted to be away from the hustle and bustle.

Hi,

We just got back- 12/18 thru 12/22-
from here and would go again. It is
a normal HIEx. We stayed on points
also (good rate). All we used it for
was to sleep and shower as we were
gone all day.

It is in the Summer Bay resort, on the
north side of Hwy 192 one mile east of
hwy 27. We had about a 15 minute drive
on hwy 192 to get to the main Disney exit.
This drive could be longer if you are there
in a high traffic time but it was fine for us.
One small problem with this is when you
are leaving the resort you have to make
a right (go west) turn and go to the next
light to make a u-turn to go east to the
parks. Again this was not a big thing but
in higher traffic times it might be.

The room we had was a standard 2 bed
hotel room W/TV, cofffee maker, Iron and
ironing board, and clock radio/alarm clock.
I did not like the curtains as I thought
they were too thin. They were just a little
thicker than sheers, we were on the 2nd floor
but I did notice the rooms on the 1st floor had
normal thicker curtains. The bathroom was a
good size and very adaquate.

It was so cold when we were there that we did
not even go to the pool. We asked about where
the hot tub was but it was over at the Summer
Bay side of the resort so we never even saw it.

We ate the breakfast every morning and thought
it was fine. It had cereal, fruits and breads & bagels
to toast.

As I have said before we would stay there again.
Employees were always nice and friendly.
We enjoyed the stay and would recommend it.

thanks for all the info. For those of you that have stayed at HIE, did you have access to the other pools in the complex? I looked at the pictures on their website and I know my daughters would love the play area and the water mushroom thing.

I was glad to hear good things about this hotel, since I just booked it for April of this year!! AAA had a great rate for King Suite. ($70)
