Has anyone stayed at the HI Express (not the Oceanfront - I have done a search and read the poor reports).

The HI Express is on N. Atlantic Ave, but not beachfront. From the map it appears to be at the end of Meade Ave.

Is the location OK? Is it far to the beach?

Any comments, good or bad, would be appreciated.

Thanks.

We stayed there the night before our April cruise. You have to walk across the street to get to the beach. It was fine for us for one night before the cruise. I would not say it was the best holiday inn express we have stayed at, but it was not bad and I would stay there again. Hope this helps.

I agree with castawayfan... it's nice for one night, but for a beach vacation, I'd want to stay somewhere on the beach side of A1A. A1A is a busy road and it's a two-block walk in addition to that from the HI Express. But it does appear to be a nice property.

Thanks for your input. After reading many other posts we've now decided on the Hampton Inn instead.

Dave. great site, love the maps. Have been trying to work out where hotels are situated but couldn't remember from previous trips. Your map's excellent.

Checked out the menu for Mangroves you've published. Looks great, have you eaten there?

The only place we've eaten in the past is Gregorys (which was fabulous but expensive) and Perkins. Any other recommendations?
