Holiday Inn Express, Clermont

We just got the news that DD band will be staying at Holiday Inn West of Disney in Clermont. This is 6 miles away for the gate. We were supposed to stay at Radisson Worldgate, 1 mile from the gate. I am upset! Anyone know anything about this resort? Nancy

Clermont is a cute little town with a nice downtown area. My brother used to live there.

However, I think it is more than 6 miles from WDW. I think it is about 20 miles and a good 45 minute drive to WDW.

Sounds like is the 4 corners area! Those of you not familiar with Central Florida, the 4 corners are the division line of Orange, Lake, Osceola and Polk counties all together. So it would be some 10 miles from Disney property, on US HWY 192 and US HWY 27. Clermont is actually part of the 4 corners extension, but would be called the Clermont/Kissimmee outerlimits! I went there some 12 years back! Hard to forget....

It is right on 192 so yes you will be about 6 miles from AK. That end of 192 is nice.

Could this be the Holiday Inn Express at the entrance to Summer Bay? I noticed one when we were there in Dec. If so, it is less than 15 minutes to the park and not a huge distance. If you turn right out of the entrance when you are leaving, you will soon hit 27. That area is Clermont. If you turn left, you go to Disney. It was an easy drive for us to go back and forth to the parks.

yes it is the one in front of Summer Bay - so about 15 to 25 minutes to WDW depending upon the park.

Wee actually just stayed there NYE as a last minute booking(1 week prior). It was actually quite nice for a Holiday Inn Express. The room was HUGE and the area was quiet. It is located right on 192 about 6 miles to Animal kingdom going the Sherberth road way. Yes it is a safe area and they have free B-fast.

She will enjoy it.

Yep we stayed at that one and LOVED it. The drive to WDW is not bad at all - just a few minutes. We had access to the water park at Summer Bay too which the kids loved.

The hotel is relatively new so it is very clean. The only problem we had was that sugar ants got into our box of Dunkin Donuts!
