Has anyone heard anything about the newly remodeled HI @ DTD? They are taking reservations for any time after mid November and super cheap!!!! Is it too good to be true?

You can also go to priorityclub.com and sign up for an offer for extra priority club points of you stay there for 3 or more nights before mid december ( look under the area called my offers and search for offers). A nice bonus, I think 3- 10 thousand points. I know that the pictures from my priority club mailer a few months ago looked really nice. I am sure it will be great with it being newly remodeled.

I was thinking that I would take advantage of this and save the $$$. My only concern is, will it be ready and if not how will we be compensated. I have reservations already on site, and if I can save the money I will. However, not at the risk of losing a room.
Thanks

BINGO!

Maybe someone who lives there can check, but when I was down in Orlando in early May there was a LOT of work left to be done!

I would keep your on site until closer to the deadline to cancel and then make a final decision. You coudl have two reservations!

i'm with you guys! I don't want to be in the middle of major construction! Maybe someone has seen the construction or can keep us up to date the closer we get.

You know what? If they allow it, maybe I'll put a one night's reservation on the Holiday Inn and see what happens the closer I get. It just seems that this renovation has taken FOREVER, and I don't want to get caught.

Thanks for the support.:goodvibes

The hotel property is currently a fairly major construction site. We've been passed the hotel several times this week and it looks like they've made some progress since we were here in late February but I did not see any actual construction activity during the week. It looks like they've added an unfinished building to the right of the old entrance area (looks like a cinderblock shell) and started work on what I suspect is a new hotel lobby area (some supports up but no walls). I do not know what the condition of the interior is in the guest room area but the exterior looks to be in good shape.
Things go up quickly in Florida but it is a little disconcerning that there wasn't any construction going on this week. Based on this very small sample of work (or non-work, more properly) I'd be a bit skeptical about the re-opening. This property has previously opened up reservations for dates that have now passed. If I were you I'd go ahead and book the reservation but have a back up location just in case things don't work out there.

Thank you so much Detailor. Would you be willing to update the progress as you see fit for those of us who are thinking about booking the Hotel? It would be a huge help in the decision making process.

Again, thank you so much.

Thanks Detailor for taking the time to comment! I might just book since it says you can cancel w/o penalty. I am also looking at Swan/Dolphin. Thanks so much for all your help. Those of us interested need to keep in touch!

Thanks
