Review Holiday Inn, DTD

so, does anyone know what's going on with this Hotel, it's been closed for years. We did see workers there last week, not many but a few.
Seems like such a waste

We stayed at the Holiday Inn at DTD on Thursday, August 12th, 2004 - the night before Hurricane Charlie struck! We were probably some of the last guests to stay there.

I am not sure what the extent of the hurricane damage was to the Holiday Inn. The Doubletree down the street had its EIFS (fake stucco) ripped off leaving a 4 story hole in the exterior. Yet that hotel was repaired and re-opened within a year.

The HI web site says they will accept reservations for May 2009. Not sure if I believe that!

Looks to me that they did a complete redo on the whole hotel.
